I'll PM it to you. Big Sis is always looking for websites to shut down. We don't need to post anything openly here.

I think Shurmur just bought a couple of Bill Walsh books and clipped plays out of it. It's a very Walsh-Montana system offense so far. As long as McCoy is accurate early on, Hillis could pile up a lot of yardage throughout games.

And in case you didn't see the beginning of the game, Cleveland started 7 whites on the first snap. I'm assuming that's their 1st Team offense.

Greg Olsen has 3 catches for 58 yards and a TD in the 2nd quarter.

What little I've seen of these games so far has been pretty dull. Once the purge is over and the remaining Whites are playing in the regular season, I might get a little more excited about it. I'm still looking forward to Sep. 3 and the two big caste games that help start the college season.

If the Panthers are having a QB competition like Rivera claimed, why is Newton getting all the snaps?
The answer, obviously, is that he was lying. Newton is their #1 no matter how much he sucks. Like tonight, for example. But they've got a lot invested in him and they need for him to be a star. So they'll tinker with the offense some more and give him more opportunities to run. It may not help them win, but they'll be able to show off his highlights and sell his jerseys.

Anybody watch Vikings v Titans?
I didn't see any of it. Locker has good numbers. Ponder's numbers are inconclusive.

Damn, is Carolina the "fattest" (no, not fastest..) team in the league? I've seen a half-dozen 400-pounders already!!

You wouldn't know it if you had seen the ESPN homepage a little while ago. There was a big picture of Newton, and I believe the headline said "Start of New Era: Newton leads two scoring drives". :icon_rolleyes:

WA33 you are missing Joe Hastings and Chris Hogan of the 49ers. And don't forget to add Poots and Markshausen ie. RW's post

It looks like (with the addition of Braylon Edwards) the 49ers have 4 blacks who seem destined to make the final roster (Michael Crabtree a definite lock- as well as Edwards, Ted Ginn Jr. for his return ability, I wouldn't call Josh Morgan elite, but to give him credit, he's been good after the catch in 2 of his first 3 seasons). It looks like unless the 49ers keep 7 WRs- that 3 of the 5 white guys are going to get cut. It would be nice to see Jurovich make it to man the slot role- and Long or Beiler (productive and talented small schooler) make the team because of their speed for an outside WR role.

Long is a very solid NFL WR with average hands/ route running ability- with some nice speed and burst (in a fair NFL- he would be in a battle with the 3 blacks not named Crabtree for PT due to different weaknesses in their games. They have all used up their "upside" labels. I wouldn't call any of them spectacular (even Edwards- remembering all his drops in Cleveland...I didn't watch him enough last year to know if he improved on this).

If Jim Harbaugh is remotely fair, he should at least sign Hastings to the practice squad. He'd then have a chance to make the roster next year when Edwards one year contract is up. The scouting I've looked into on Beiler and Hastings (courtesy of DD and Jimmy Chitwood) and their production and measureables-indicate they could turn out to be impact NFL WRs.

I know nothing about Hogan- other than that he played at a FCS Jersey school within an hour of where I used to live.

Thanks Tough. I knew I was missing a few.

It's ridiculous that the best quarterbacks from the draft are Gabbert, Locker, and Ponder but Scam Newton is receiving the most praise.

Scam showed zero "escapability"... again, he isn't an "athletic freak!"

And, in the redzone, there was only one speed on his passes.. and that was throwing "really hard." Are we witnessing another "new-age QB" that is lacking "touch?"

Tim Tebow is vastly superior in these areas.. a Mercedes to Scam's moped! Maybe Scam can eventually move up to a VW Beetle...

I was just looking at some updated depth charts and I count 10 teams that will be coal black on defense. Also, quite a few more teams will only start one white on defense. I think this season could have the least amount of white starters on defense.

I don't think the overall amount of white starters on defense will be too much different than in years past. Basically its really low, and staying that way. Overall white starters on offense and defense is looking to be about the same as last year, maybe even a few more than last year.

whiteathlete33,

The problem with praising these black QB"S like Cam Newton is the small point that in the end, they're going to make the person doing the praising look stupid and eat their words. Happens all the time.

Well usually Tom. There are some decent black quarterbacks like Josh Freeman and McNabb but the majority are terrible. Every year the media and DWF's hype a black quarterback up like Terrelle Pryor and Scam Newton. I predict this Newton ends up as Vince Young at best.

Newton did play most of the time in the pocket. He did not take off running. He struggled with his accuracy against very vanilla defensive schemes playing against 2nd-3rd stringers. Things will only get more difficult once he is handed the starting job week 1.

Whiteathlete, I do not think the trends on defense are a surprise. On the bright side there were alot of good performances this week. Dane Fletcher, AJ Edds, Danny Batten, Casey Matthews all played well at LB. Klug and Zach Clayton made an impact for Tennesse and will both hopefully make the final roster. These guys are either rookies or 2nd year guys.

By all accounts JJ Watt is already entrenched as a starter and has been a man among boys in camp. The Texans also have Cushing, Brooks Reed and Barwin.

Personally the makeup of a team has some bearing on who I will cheer for(Philadelphia, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay are all teams I hope to lose every game). Over the past 4 or so years I have just found myself rooting for white players only based on their individual performances.

Regarding Tim Tebow vs Cam Newton, I think the media playbook is pretty much set on this one. Tebow, as we know, has been osctracized as an NFL player and deemed unqualifed to play the QB position. Every article about him will magnify any negatives they can find, and try to bury him every chance they get. The only hope is for Tebow to get an opportunity to play and play well, and shut up his critics.

Newton will most likely be put on a 5-year development plan (with that tremendous upside and all), and will be given every opportunity to succeed. Anything negative will most likely be ignored or excused, and heaven forbid if he actually plays well every once in a while.

In other words, the coverage of these two could not be any more different, for what amounts to pretty much two very similar players, except Tebow is far more accomplished and I believe has a better chance to be a solid QB in the NFL.

This ESPN writer has already decided that Newton's first outing was more than enough to make him the starter:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/23648/early-take-on-newton-and-clausen

As for this guy, reader discretion is advised:

http://101sports.com/category/tsoftli-blogs/20110815/Assessing-Cam-Newton/

I believe this homosexual clown was masturbating with his Cam Newton blow-up doll when he wrote this:

Cam Newton is a tall, handsome young man with striking features, a broad, chiseled chin and a big, bright smile that lights up a room like several hundred halogen lamps. As one woman told me, he could be a male model during the offseason.

This writer is obviously a *** who wants to be Scams prison bitch. Do not let these articles bother you in any way because their sole intention is too build up Scam before he fails. I watched the game portion of when he played against the Giants 2nd and 3rd stringers, and he sucked for the most part. He looked like a scared little bitch running out of the pocket, and trying to flash his athleticism that some how failed him. The NFL always annoints a brotha to be the best quto back, and can't miss prospect because thats what their agenda is to promote black domination of all the postions. Scam will be out of the league in a few years, and his millions gone. However his illigitimate children will need to be fed, and taken care of that's when he can start his next career move. As the writer suggested Scam Newton a former quota back now a gay young porn star lol.

I predict this Newton ends up as Vince Young at best.

WA33, Michael Vick IMO performed as the 3rd best QB in the NFL last year behind Rodgers and Brady and it will be interesting to see if he keeps that level of performance up. I agree with you on McNabb and Freeman being talented, but IMHO Vince Young was a very solid starting QB. You could even make the argument he was slightly above average. He had a great record of 32-17 as a starter, so he is a winner. And his pocket sense and accuracy in his last season as a starter with Tennessee improved. He also adds another dimension with his running ability and ability to extend the play. If Cam Newton ends up like Vince Young, but an emotionally stable version, he'd be a pretty good (although not great) starting QB.

I have no problem calling Tarvaris Jackson and Jamarcus Russell black quarterbacks because the term is totally fitting and the media hype on both of them became ridiculous (before it became so obvious that they couldn't continue to lie through their teeth about JaFarcus Hussle anymore). There's also no doubt that black and white performances are not fairly evaluated by the CM media.

I made a post the other day in the Tebow thread about this. Tim Tebow, Cam Newton and Vince Young all have similar gifts and weaknesses as QBs. I do believe that Tebow has the most upside because of a phenomenal work ethic and extremely high character (and I believe he will improve faster than Newton on putting touch on his throws). Still, let's not use the label black quarterback (which is a perfect, funny, caste term that Bearbacker should be given credit for!) on players that don't deserve it. We should hold ourselves to the fair performance evaluators that the CM media has too much of an agenda to even come close to! I believe that the media double standards are getting more and more obvious and that it will backfire and end up HELPING our cause! :)

I think the main thing Tebow has in his favor is he's White. White guys with his talent tend to be good QB's, you can look it up. Why deny it or not mention it when being black is considered an advantage at all other positions. You lump Tebow, Newton, and Young, together because of their "talents" which are God given advantages, so why not being White which is also "God given"?

I also think Newton has a chance at success because he seems more like McNabb and Culpper, genuinely decent sorts, with just a little TNB, unlike Young who turned out to be a complete punk with lots of TNB.
