“ASO will not take part in the upcoming commemoration of the Vel d’Hiv round-up. As a sports organisation, ASO has no legitimacy whatsoever to be present.”

Tres bon! Short and direct to the point. No need for apologies or excuses. If an American sport made such a reply they would be accused of shunning their social responsibilities then they'd be subjected to a media shaming campaign followed by pressure from corporate sponsors.

the tour de france is in my region right now, but it no longer goes to my city, maybe the air was too bad for the lungs :biggrin1:

i love to watch all these french cities and landscapes, except the big cities
it reminds me that my region is beautiful, it's easy to forget it when you live in a big city though

Does ice hockey have any following in the French Alps?

yes, a big following for a minor sport
i'd say that it comes third after football (soccer) and rugby
we have the best french team, or one of the bests in france, i believe (called "les bruleurs de loups")
however it looks very strange, when you watch a match it really looks very american, it's very different to soccer or rugby, very different to watch
