I took my daughter and her friend to the movies this weekend. Among the dozen or so previews was one for a new movie starring Cheech Marin about a Mexican little league baseball team. I don't know if the movie itself will be a top-to-bottom gringo-bashing fest, but the clips sure hinted at it. Black umpires telling the "latinos" they're on the same side (against whom?), drunken white fan (Texan, no less) yelling out "Ain't no Mexican team gonna beat our Texas boys!" etc.
It purports to be based on a true story, from the late 1950s. This must be the Mexicans' equivalent to the movie about Texas-Western (now UTEP) winning the college basketball championship with an all-black team.Edited by: Deus Vult
