This is a strange one. Weirich was a former BYU pole vaulter who has for some strange reason taken up the 200 meters. He finished 3rd in a Barcelona meet 2 weeks ago with a 20.43 time into a -1 headwind. I wonder if he could have run about a 20.1 with the right wind. Hes 28 and truthfully Ive never heard of him until now. I know hes white because he currently has 2 younger brothers running track for BYU. This is coming straight out of left field. With that kind of speed I wonder why he took track up so late?

Wow--that is a very unusual find. A very brief google turned up nada to answer those questions. If you have more time to dig, let us know what you find, as that is a ridiculous time for a 28-yr-old rookie running into a wind. I wonder how he even wangled an invite to the meet?
