Hello, Caste-aways!

I've enjoyed this site for many months but this is my first post.
I am a life-long Atlanta Braves fan, and I couldn't be prouder of the
Braves organization -- the Braves have six young White players -- all
from Georgia -- on their current roster (Kyle Davies, B. Bower, McKay
McBride, Kyle Farnsworth, Brian McCann, and Jeff Francoeur), and each
of them are solid major leaguers.

But, of course, none of these guys get any national attention (except
maybe Farnsworth, and then only for his quick temper and reputation as
a hot-head.) But the national media's silence regarding Jeff
Francoeur is deafening.

If you haven't already, be sure to check this kid out: He's three (3)
years removed from high school, and he's batting .406, 7 HR, 19 RBI,
and he's a wizard with the glove (he had 2 assists from the outfield 2
nights ago). He was All-World (not to mention a local legend) in
high school, where he led Parkview H.S. (Lilburn, GA) to back-to-back
state championships in Georgia's highest classification, as well as a
State Championship in baseball. His interception returned for a
touchdown in a state semi-final game was televised, and it is the
stuff of legend around here. He turned down a scholarship to
Clemson (where he would have played football and baseball) to sign with
his hometown heroes, the Atlanta Braves. And now he's the hottest
player on the team and one of the best in the league over the last
month, at the ripe old age of 21. He's charismatic, an
All-American dude, chicks swoon over him, and somehow, SOMEHOW,
Michelle Wie is more of a household name.

If Francoeur was black, he would be non-stop front-page news, a media
darling, and he would already have signed several multimillion
dollar licensing deals with major corporations. If anyone ever
doubted the existence of the caste, you need only to look at the
media's treatment of Francoeur's story to prove that the caste
exists.

Welcome to Caste Football, Southern Knight. There are thousands of white athletes just like Francoeur all across the country who are getting discriminated against. Hopefully, getting their names out in the open on this site will make more people aware of the situation and willing to do something to change it.

I've seen Franceour play in a series against awhile back and can tell he is one of the better young defensive outfielders in the game. He should win several gold gloves throughout his career. The only knock on him is that he doesn't walk enough, but then again how many young players coming up to the bigs take a bunch of pitches. Well he's better than Jose Reyes at taking pitches. Does Reyes even have walks in double digits yet? This is why you guys always win you have a great farm system. Yeah your team doesn't like ESPN fantasy team like the Mets try to have every year, but your system works because you know it takes more than guys with a lot of talent and big egos to win. I mean Beltran despite his numbers is one of the streakest players throughout a season I have ever seen before he got to the Mets. Franceour will be a solid big leaguer for sure.

Thanks for the info Southern Knight! The only way we can follow some of these kids is through this site because of the media black out (pun intended) of coverage of people like Francoeur (and what a great French name). I'm now a Braves fan!

Francoeur had four more hits last night, raising his average to
.432. He has 22 RBI in 23 games since being called-up from the
minors.

STILL though, an Atlanta sports- talk radio show, which is targeted
toward blacks ("2 Live Stews"), actually made "news" by publicly
questioning why the "new Braves" are almost all-White. Funny, I
don't think those morons have ever questioned why the Georgia Bulldogs'
football recruits are almost entirely black...

Francoeur is on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, and is called "The Natural."

As someone noted on the board a while back (sunshine?), SI is still capable of good journalism even though it is overwhelmingly pro-Caste System in its orientation. Guess you could call it "the lesser of the evils" when it comes to the Big 3 of SI, TSN and ESPN The Magazine.

Francoeur is leading another banner year for white rookies in MLB.

Awesome. I stopped my subscription to SI awhlie ago, but, as a
lifelong Braves fan (I jumped on the '82 bandwagon, not the '91
bandwagon:) ) I'll definitely pick this up. Francouer is the real
deal, and I"m glad he's finally getting some run in the media. I
look at the AP wire every day, and Francoeur has never been
the lead of the National League roundup.

It was a surprise to see Francouer on the SI cover and a little pic on top for tennis. Francouer was a 50/50 baseball/football player and many believed he would opt for football. A dominating safety with 4.4 speed. Watching him play baseball it is obvious the guy has loads of talent and follows in the line of athletic Braves like Dale Murphy and Chipper Jones. Francouer is what they call a bonafide 5 tool player. I am concerned about his lack of walks. He will have to learn to take pitches because in the majors pitchers will learn to adjust to his free swinging. This will become a problem if he does not ironit out.But as Chipper says in the article if he learns to walk the sky is the limit! Want character? He was beamed in the face while in the minors. Missed a lot of time. But didn't flinch for one second and came back as strong as ever.

Francouer was called up after the All-Star Break, yet he is tied for
the National League lead in outfield assists. The accuracy of his
throwing arm is astounding. Eventually, teams will stop testing
him.

By the way, 2 for 5 at the plate last night, with a pair of
doubles. This kid is as smooth as ice-cold Yoo-hoo. His
replica jersey is quickly becoming the most popular item in town, even
outselling the ATL's "other" superstar, St. Michael (Vick).
