The SEC is setting the tone for black defense. I just caught the Auburn-Ole Miss conclusion and the start of the Georgia-Florida game and from I saw there was 2 whites playing (out of 44). Someone can find out how many whites currently start in the SEC on defense. (There are 132 possible positions.)

Ole Miss DE Chris Bowers started the game, but got a bad stinger and missed the rest of the game. I previewed all SEC teams, plus I compared the conference in 2005 and 2006. Here are the numbers.

2006 White defensive starters
CB-0
S-1
LB-8
DE-6
DT-1
NG-1

2005 White defensive starters
CB-1
S-1
LB-4
DE-4
DT-4
NG-1

I hope that helps.

17 projected white defensive SEC starters out of 132 positions. I'm watching Tennessee-South Carolina now and see one on each defense. So today a casual glance at half the league, six teams, and I saw four whites on defense. Vandy had 5 projected starters on defense, so that the leaves the remaining 11 SEC teams with 12 white defensive starters? The SEC is pitiful.

No argument here, Triad. Its the blackest of the black, no doubt.
