I'm sure Kelly Pavlik's success will have a trickle down effect, and we'll see more white American champions.Edited by: Alpha Male

There are some decent prospects, but Brian Minto is still the best white american boxer, so there's a long way to go before white americans are back in the mix.

Nevada, that's ridiculous! Minto's a good fighter, but he's far from being the best white American boxer. Kelly Pavlik (32-0, 29 KO), the unified middleweight champion, is easily the best.

Other top white American boxers include Paulie Malignaggi (23-1) IBF light welterweight titleholder and Paul Spadafora (40-0) former lightweight champion, just out of jail and fighting next week. Among heavyweights, I rate Mollo and Mesi ahead of Minto (so does BoxRec), and after tonight we'll have a better idea of where Abell ranks.
