Is he running today?

10.33 (-0.9)

"Je suis un peu déçu. Je comptais faire mieux, explique-t-il. Je n’étais pas bien, j’ai eu du mal à faire une bonne course. C’était difficile. J’ai beaucoup bossé ces dernières semaines. Je suis encore un peu fatigué. » Son 100 m à Tokyo, dimanche prochain, devrait s’avérer meilleur".

10.33....... this is really, really sad.
It is so frustrating to watch this once in a lifetime talent go to waste.

I hate to bug, but why does Christophe always contradict himself in interviews?...Anytime he runs a bad race, he says he was expecting a much better time, then goes on to say, he didn't feel well in the race and was tired from training...if he felt tired from training, he should of said in the interview ' yes, I expected the time in this range as I felt a little worn out from training'...I have a hunch he will run the same times as last year in the 100, but should run sub 20 in the 200...He is a 200 meter specialist, and should just stick to it.

I asked RCSMAN to translate a video for me regarding Christophe new training change, and he stated that the only difference is Christophe added more stretching and and extra hour or so running cones etc., nothing significant. I was hoping to see him do some upper body lifting, running hills, pushing and pulling sleds etc (this helps with power at the start which he lacks significantly)...I hope Im wrong, but they are so stubborn in their methods ' his trainers' etc..

What were the weather conditions? Right now in Western New York and Southern Ontario the weather is close to a month behind the norm. Maybe it was similar temperatures? I agree if it was Cannes like weather than that is terrible but if the weather was what I described it's not too bad.

the first race is not important, last week, walter dix ran 10.45 (-1.9)

the second race (japan) will be important

When he doesn't fix his start (the first 30m) then he will never go under 9,90 Sec.
I don't understand it. After 10m he is nearly 1m behind Bolt, Gatlin, Blake.

that's true.

In the second part of his race (50M), Christophe is faster than in 2011 but in the first part, he his slower.

Best time :

5.71 in 2011 (50M) 4.29 (100M) RT : 0.12
5.77 in 2013 (50M) 4.25 (100M) RT : 0.17

Christophe needs to do basic uphill sprinting, push and pull weighted sleds to build explosive power at the start. This is very common training for short sprinters like American Football players who want to develop their 40 yard dash which is about the start; Christophes 2nd part of the race is solid

If you go and watch his weight lifting videos, they are going about it all wrong. Slow movements do not build quick twitch fibers which he needs more of. His endurance has always been fine. He needs more power and explosiveness. How the hell can they train the kid wrong for four years in a row. He is amazing but he could have been far better with world class coaching. Sorry but the time for excuses ran out a long time ago. An incredible waste of talent due to poor training techniques. Very, very sad and incredibly frustrating to watch for all of his fans from around the world. Especially those of us who know he is not being trained with the right methods.

I hope for the best but his 100 has gotten very average compared to the top sprinters in the world. He is no longer a threat over 100 meters an that is his coach's fault. He can still compete over 200 but even there he is giving up far too much ground in every single race. He has the slowest starts out of the blocks of any elite sprinter that I have ever seen. Damn this sucks. I would train the kid for free and do a better job with his starts. They are pathetic!

Christophe is/was pulling sleds (24-36 kg). I've read it somewhere in the internet.
I have no information that he is pushing sleds, but I don't believe it.

You can find a training video about Yohan Blake and Warren Weir at Flotrack and Youtube.
The hills - you can see there - are no really hills.

Im with you, I would quit my day job and train him for free. His current coaches/trainers went at his development all wrong. Something is not clicking. Christophe should not guess his times, he should expect what to run, and should of progressed every year.

Christophe will have large problems to defend his title (100m) at the European Championships.
Jimmy Vicaut, Adam Gemili, Richard Kilty, James Dasaolo and Lucas Jakubczyk will start.
Have I forgotten someone?

Lucas ?
there is a big big difference between Chistophe and lucas (0,15s or 0.20s)

Don't compare the first race of the outdoor season, the first race is always a joke.

I hope Chistophe will run between 10.10 -10.15 (basic time) in japan
