Well, it seems that Serguei Lyakhovich will NOT be fighting Chris Byrd after all. Instead he will be taking on black prospect Owen Beck in August. While I think this is a much better fight for Serguei at this point in his career, it seems a little strange that, yet again, Byrd backs out of fighting an Eastern Euro.

It is also interesting to note that on the undercard, Art Binkowski takes a HUGE step up, and he'll be fighting Oliver McCall. I think both these guys are taking pretty big steps, and if they can both win their fights, they will both be much closer to being recognizable.Edited by: Sean

Not 100% sure, but I believe the IBF said Byrd must fight his mandatory who is Davaryll Williamson

Klitschko went to court because he beat Williamson two fights ago, and he wants the shot at Byrd.

Lyakhovich will fight Beck to see who gets the next shot, against the winner of the Byrd vs whoever fight.
