Brad Miller is an archetype "OLD DOG" that can learn new tricks. The biggest change in his game, 3pt shooting. Years ago I could not image a 6'11 or 7'0 player shooting 3pt shots. Prior to Dirk Nowitzki, the only tall shooting 3pt players I knew of where Toni Kukoc, Detlef Schrempf, Rasheed Wallace, and Keith Van Horn.
Now, thanks in large part to Dirk (Memo Okur though deserves some credit because it took him a year or two to convince Jerry Sloan to accept his 3pt shooting game), 6'11, 7'0 3pt shooters have emerged in the form of Andrea Bargnani, Troy Murphy, Memo Okur, and Yi Jianlian.
Brad Miller, and his young successor Spencer Hawes, are now part of this emerging class of NBA players. The restrictions have now been lifted, tall white players like Brad Miller are now given the green light to shoot from Downtown, and not be shy or ashamed of such an ability.
It's all thanks to Dirk Nowitzki, who set a new trend for White players to follow and become successfull.
