Since 2006 Florida has started 6, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 4, 6, 5, 1, 4, 2, 2, 1 and 4 white players. In 2023 they look to start 3.

Florida is at least forecasted to be somewhat interesting to watch this season. Wisconsin QB transfer Graham Mertz who never lived up to his Badger debut has transferred to Gainesville and appears to have the upper hand at the job. This is one year after one of the biggest media manufactured hypejobs in recent memory at the position parlayed an admittedly mediocre season into the number 4 overall draft selection - 53.8% passing - 2549 yards 17 TDs to 9 INTs in his single year starting certainly does not warrant that pick from a logical perspective. However, the unmeasurable, intangible, get out of jail free card - "dat upside" was given to him. While we should all actively root against him in the NFL, we should also see how Mertz/Miller do in the offense -it will be an interesting case study to say the least. Jack Miller did not fare well in his only start - the bowl game however that should not be held against him either. Hopefully it is either Mertz or Miller that gets the job and has a strong season.

The Gators also boast a rarity in the SEC (and all of college football for that matter) a White #1 WR - Ricky Pearsall. Despite playing with an inaccurate QB (also suffered from this at ASU) he had a solid year - 33 rec, 661 yds, 5 TDs. WR Trent Whittemore has moved on to UCF.

Players to look out for include QB Parker Leise (3 Star QB that decided to go the walk on route), TE Hayden Hansen, TE Jonathan Odom, LB/EDGE Jack Pyburn
