Since 2012, UMass have started 9, 8, 6, 6, 7, 10, 10, 4, 6, and 2 white players. In 2022, they are starting 8.
Don Brown returns to UMass to run the show and right the ship; he presided over the school's five most winning years from 2004-2008. Since then, he's been a power conference defensive coordinator with a reputation for finding overlooked recruiting "gems" (white guys) from the New England area. This first season has been rough, although he started out with quite a roster overhaul. Brown has already found some white kids from Massachusetts to play quarterback for the foreseeable future.
Starters:
QB: Brady Olson
OT: Max Longman, Jonny Hassard
OG: Cole Garcia, Ethan Mottinger
OC: Josh Atwood
TE: Josiah Johnson
Safety/Viper: Tanner Brown
Backups:
QB: Gino Campiotti, Garrett Dzuro, Chase Brewster
OT: Ben Bohnenberger, Connor Vasher
OG: Tommy Brandt
OC: Nick Lundeberg
TE: Jacob Orlando
DT: Hugo Klages, Magnus Von Saldern
