Here are the projected whites starting for Wisonsin this year. Wisconsin started 8 whites in 2008, 6 in 2007, and 12 in 2006, so Bret Bielema appears to be going in the right direction.

Post updated.

RT Peter Konz will be in a fight for the right tackle position with Josh Oglesby. (black)

Also, Jeff Stehle will be competing for playing time at DT with J.J. Watt.

Freshman Brendan Kelly looks to start at one of the end positions, hopefully.

Good news, Jack!

That makes 34 half white or better FBS teams with 7 left to preview.

Oooops, forgot to include their fullback lol. Also, Patrick Butrym, is competing with Dan Moore (black) for the other DT position.

Putting 6'1 215 Bradie Ewing at fullback makes me sick. Especially considering he was a high school runningback and will be blocking for 6'2 245 RB John Clay. Ah the double standard! Good to see the D is whiter than last years where i believe only one white started?

Its hard to imagine Wisconsin possibly starting 13 whites this year. Pretty exciting stuff!

Wisconsin started 2 whites on D last year, so a potential increase of 3 on defense.

An overall increase of hopefully 5 for Wisconsin this year.

That is ridiculous. Clay should be blocking for Ewing.

Chris Maragos will definitely start at SS after this news was announced:
<div>MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin has suspended safeties Aubrey Pleasant and Shane Carter (both black).</div>
Head coach Bret Bielema did not say in his statement on Saturday why
the two seniors were being suspended. Both players have been an
integral part of the Badgers' defense.

The
6-foot-1 Pleasant has made 80 career tackles over 14 starts and was
listed beside safety Jay Valai for a starting slot on the most recent
depth chart.

The 6-foot-2 Carter has made 20 starts in his career and is competing with Chris Maragos for the other starting safety position.

Wisconsin plays its first game Sept. 5 against Northern Illinois.http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/9940538/Wisconsin-DBs-Pleasant,-Carter-suspended

This might also help out the 5 white DBs on the team besides Maragos.

Chris Maragos is flying around , i have counted 4 tackles for him already halfway through the first. The announcers were saying how Jim Leonhard was his mentor this offseason! Good to hear two white safeties who were both walk-ons bonding together and helping each other out. I doubt Maragos is on many NFL radars but he may play his way into one if he keeps playing the way he has.

Here are the updated starters for the Badgers, who play Thug U in the Champs Sports Bowl.

Jake Bscherer starts at RT.

Chris Borland starts at SLB.

Chris Maragos is a FS now.

Blake Sorensen has a chance to start at MLB.

I think Ewing may be the starter at FB, but they rarely use one, so I'm not sure. Garret Graham doubles as an H-Back and TE.

I saw the "Thug U" and was pretty sure that you meant Miami, Jack, but considering that most D1 programs now fit that description, I actually had to look!

This is kind of off topic. John Clay is a good back but he fumbles way too much. They even had him carry a ball around campus during academic hours and it still doesn't seem to help. The Northwestern game was evidence that he is fumble prone!
