I actually watched the entire (boring) CIN-BAL game on Thurs, and did a little non-Scientific analysis of some of the double-speak and weasel-words used in negatively profiling the athletes, so I'll give you my 'impartial' take, for what it's worth:

Collinsworth seemed reasonably free with his praise for guys like Kaesviharn and Gregg, although he usually attached some sort of caveat to these. He seemed wont to attach qualifiers like "surprisingly" and "unexpected" in recounting Kaesviharn's league-leading 6 interceptions and in recounting a paraphrase about a team-mate of Gregg naming him as a "key" player in their dominant defense. Caleb Miller was praised as a good cover linebacker, as I recall.

Collinsworth even laid into McNair for sliding on a key 3rd down late in the game...Gumbel seemed sort of muted at that.

Then they ran old clips of Collinsworth and yucked it up at his expense. He was very clear and emphatic in saying how inferior he was as a receiver to Chad Johnson. Kind of hilarious, actually.

Also, does this Gumbel guy know anything about Football? He kept going on about the Ravens "turning over on downs" when they'd go 3-and-out? Then he described Collinsworth as being "8 yards shy of 7,000"...when the graphic read 6,692. Then he went on about the Bengals having never shut-out an opponent since 1989..."The first time in 7 years!" Is this guy comic relief or something?Edited by: JerveyGotGypped

I think Kircus could end the year pretty strong. Cutler and Kircus developed a chemistry in the preseason and it will be interesting to see how often Cutler looks his way during these last 5 games. Hopefully alot.

Furrey is having great game, was even praised by announcers! they also gave Heath Evans some props for great blocking, calling him an unsung hero of this offense paving the way for their RBs...
it should be someone else blocking for HIM...

Wow, Reggie Bush took some hits on a nice run up the middle.

Did you know Leftwich was placed on IR Dec. 1st? I didn't. I wonder if his ankle was that bad (he had surgery in November) or if they are really done with him in Jacksonville.

I haven't watched a lot of Charger's games; what kind of guy is LaDainian Thomlinson? Does he showboat in the endzone? Is he gangsta? It would be great if he is a decent guy, because he is one hell of a player, that's for sure.

Drew Bennett has a TD pass from Vince Young, today! How 'bout that!

Looks like Vick is on pace to have one of his rare, decent quarterback days today against the 'Skins. Just over 100 yards passing, 2 TD, 0 INT, and only 28 yards rushing mid-3rd quarter.

I hope no one is under the mistaken impression that anyone other than Drew Brees is responsible for saving the Saints from another dismal season.

How much longer does Grossman have before he is yanked for Brian Griese? Grossman is 3 of 10 for 22 yards, 0 TD and 3 INT so far today against Minnesota. As much as I tend toward leaving starting quarterbacks alone even after a bad performance or two, you have to wonder if it isn't time for Grossman to sit.

Grossman had several shockingly bad games this season. i think he will be pulled out of the game for Griese very soon.

btw McCown had a catch for 8 yards and is playing a lot! he also had 31 yard catch but he subtly pushed the defender off unfortunately refs noticed that. it is still fun to see him out there!

Furrey has well over 100 yards already, 123 yards on 9 catches and a TD, his best career day...

Joe Jurevicius also has 6 catches, partly because Derek Anderson who came on for injured Frye understands he is their best receiver...Edited by: backrow

Mike Furrey is leading the NFL in receiving this week so far. He's on the ESPN leader board with 9 for 123 and a TD so far! Keep it up Mike!

Crap! Just when I turn the volume up on the Saints/Fortiners game, the announcers make fun of FB Mike Karney.

One of these days I'll learn to keep the volume off all the time. Edited by: Colonel_Reb

they also made fun of Manning for not being able to run like Vince Young... zoom on Manning after Young's run for 15 yards "he's thinking - i could do that" and the other guy goes "in his dreams"...

backrow, just so you know, I didn't read your post before posting mine. I saw Furrey on the ESPN leader board and hurried to post it because I have been looking for that all season. By the way, how am I always late?

What the heck was that? Bush just about lost the ball while running with it. How often do you see that? He must have small hands or something.

I just saw the replay of the almost-sack by the black Giant on Vince Young that turned into the Giants losing. What a joke! He should have been demoted for that bonehead play. What a fool he looked like, but maybe thats what he was aiming for. Isn't there a rap song that says "act a fool?"

I love Shockey and his attitude. As I've said before,he doesn't take crap from anyone. He gets in peoples faces and just makes sure that they know how good he is.They are not used to hearing white football players have that kind of confidence. We need more guys to have that kind of attitude in order to wake up people.Keep it up Jeremy!

What is it with Green Bay? I don't live in the U.S. so I don't know about the demographics of the area. But you have a team that completes 24 passes and I've just checked and not one was to a white player. Even the most white unfiendly NFL teams usually manage to send at least one pass to a white fullback or backup tight end, but not in Green Bay.
