You are correct. And yes, he was the inspiration for my user name. He and the Packers were not very good until Lombardi came along. Starr became the consummate field general, game manager. In big games he excelled. He loathed turning over the ball. Sure, he took risks at the appropriate times, but was never reckless. He was the best QB Titletown ever had. The proof is in the number of Championships.

Someone mentioned Roger Staubach. I forgot about him as do many today. He was terrific. Great passer, runner and very smart.
