There are several reports on Drudge today of union thugs from SEIU and the AFL-CIO who have been and will be showing up at these town hall meetings to counter protest and intimidate the health-care takeover protestors. I expect things to get ugly in August and I think the Dems are desparate to change the topic. It wouldn't suprise me to see some staged violence at these meetings to marginalize the regular folks and make us all look like extremist fringe groups. Never mind the fact that over 60% of the public disapproves of the goverment taking over our health care. So find out if your Senator or congressman is holding one of these meetings in your community and show up. There is another tea party in Akron on August 19th that I will be attending. Rise up!

it didn't take long for your hunch to pay off, Aragorn. An angry mob of "racist" extremists beat a black man at a town hall meeting. only, the catch is ... the black victim was a conservative while the racist attacker was black. AND a liberal union supporter. hahahaha!!!!
he, along with several white liberals got violent outside after a town hall meeting. looks like the liberals are feeling pretty confident and their true colors are showing more vividly by the day.
I guess the Democrats were right after all. At a town meeting held by a Democrat congressman, a rowdy group of organized and angry thugs showed up to make a point about ObamaCare, and then beat up a man. Race was involved, too: the victim was black â€" attacked by a man yelling racial slurs.

It's every Democrat talking point you've read about in the last day or two, come to life in an ugly fashion.

With one twist. The black victim was a conservative, and the assailants may well have been union thugs:
<BLOCKQUOTE>

Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with "Don't tread on me"Â￾ printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.

"It just seems there's no freedom of speech without being attacked,"Â￾ he said.</BLOCKQUOTE>

Not when you have angry mobs of left-wing extremists around . . .

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

also, the aftermath was caught on video. YouTube has frozen the view count already, but the video is still up ... for now.

in it, the black victim clearly states that a black man attacked him. then later, while the cops were arresting a couple of violent whites, it's reported that the black instigator has run off.

yep, those peace-loving lefties ... they love freedom of speech, as long as it's them who is talking. if you don't believe they're peaceful, they'll assault you until you admit it.

Yep, JimmyC, that didn't take long at all. The conservative black activist who was beat up was interviewed on O'Reilly last night with Laura Ingraham guest hosting. He said he was called the "N" word before the beating started by another black who was basically saying that all blacks are suppossed to think alike or you get beaten up. It was absolutely a brazen attack in front of cameras and plenty of witnesses. So if you do go to these town hall meetings, show up in numbers and don't start any fights but don't back down from one either. It's so nice to see the American people actually rising up and making the attempt to hold these politicians accountable. They are running scared and making mistakes to further enrage and galvanize the regular folks like this whitehouse email controversy and comparing us to organized mobs. It seems the "community organizer" hates to see organized communities rise up against his policies.

it's the same old, same old. both the jews and the negroes are crying racism. again.

first, Keynesian economist jew Paul Krugman was ranting against the goyim "Town Hall Mob" in the Jew York Times, then negro columnist Cynthia Tucker on the Chris Matthews Show, crying that evil White people who are rightly upset about the decisions being made in Washington D.C. are all racists ...

how much of this will it take before you guys who are self-described moderates realize it's time to get off the fence? gentlemen, there is no middle ground.

no matter how much White people give, it will never be enough. no matter how apologetic White people are, it will never be sufficient for the horribly aggrieved. no matter how unfairly White folks stack the deck in order to benefit non-whites and hurt themselves, it won't be fair enough for the non-whites to quit crying and demanding more. no matter how many "black friends" you have, you will never be anything but an evil oppressor. it's time White folks figure this out, because every other racial group already knows it.

it's us against them, and too many of "us" are either on the wrong sideor hiding fromthe truth of the matter. which is just as bad, in my opinion.

you moderate guys need to pull the trigger one way or the other, because there is no middle ground any more ... if there ever was.

more town hall violence, as more people are becoming fed up. this article discusses two town hall meetings that got too rowdy, and examines the issuespretty well. one of the incidents was the one we've already been talking about, the Rep. Carnahan debacle in Missouri. the other was in Florida. video of the two events is also included in the link.
an excerpt:
In Ybor City, Fla., there were similar scuffles, some of which were reportedly broken up by law enforcement, but no arrests. That forum was organized by a state legislator, Democratic Rep. Betty Reed, but U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., was also there. She didn't get much of a chance to address the crowd, though -- the Tampa Tribune reports, "Castor tried to speak for nearly 15 minutes but the crowd drowned her out, chanting, 'You work for us,' 'Tyranny, tyranny,' and 'Read the bill.' She ultimately left the meeting early, further angering some attendees."

In both cases, the breaking point was apparently the size of the crowd -- at both of the town halls, the number of people who showed up was too large for the space in which they were being held, and so some people were not allowed in. Conservative protesters took this as a sign they were being shut out because of their political beliefs ...

DixieDestroyer, I've read some annoying columnists in my life but Cynthia Tucker has got to be the worst. So far as I'm concerned, any paper that prints her is automatically rubbish.

Great intel Jimmy! The Marxist Dems borrow the false-flag & agent provacatuer techniques from their Globalist Elite ma$ters who constantly utilize these methods. In this case the DNC & their stooges are pulling out the stops to frame "ObamaCare" opponents as racist & violent, etc.

Obama Camp Places Fake Doctor at a Town Hall Forum, along with Obama Campaign Official who is a Che Guevara Fan ... and They Were Caught Red-Handed.

the link includes video and pictures ... and of course no one in the mainstream media is talking about it.

I'm not sure why, but something didn't smell right. So my colleagues and I did a little digging, and wouldn't you know it? Roxana Mayer is, like, totally not a doctor.

But she is an Obama campaign volunteer.

Our own David Jennings secured a phone interview, in which Mayer admitted to impersonating a physician, saying â€" get this â€" she thought it would help her credibility. (It didn't.)

Man carries assault rifle to Arizona town hall meeting ... and it's legal!
smiley32.gif

Arizona doesn't infringe on the Second Amendment, you see.
smiley2.gif

<B _extended="true">PHOENIX, Arizona (CNN) [/B]-- A man toting an assault rifle was among a dozen protesters carrying weapons while demonstrating outside President Obama's speech to veterans on Monday, but no laws were broken. It was the second instance in recent days in which weapons have been seen near presidential events.

Video from the protest in Phoenix, Arizona, shows the man standing with other protesters, with the rifle slung over his right shoulder.
Phoenix police said authorities monitored about a dozen people carrying weapons while peacefully demonstrating.
"It was a group interested in exercising the right to bear arms," police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill said.
Arizona law has nothing in the books regulating assault rifles, and only requires permits for carrying concealed weapons. So despite the man's proximity to the president, there were no charges or arrests to be made. Hill said officers explained the law to some people who were upset about the presence of weapons at the protest.

"I come from another state where 'open carry' is legal, but no one does it, so the police don't really know about it and they harass people, arrest people falsely," the man, who wasn't identified, said in an interview aired by CNN affiliate KNVX. "I think that people need to get out and do it more so that they get kind of conditioned to it."
Gun-toting protesters have demonstrated around the president before. Last week, a man protesting outside Obama's town hall meeting in New Hampshire had a gun strapped to his thigh. That state also doesn't require a license for open carry.

U.S. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan acknowledged the incidents in New Hampshire and Arizona, but said he was not aware of any other recent events where protesters attended with open weapons. He said there was no indication that anyone had organized the incidents.
Asked whether the individuals carrying weapons jeopardized the safety of the president, Donovan said, "Of course not."
The individuals would never have gotten in close proximity to the president, regardless of any state laws on openly carrying weapons, he said. A venue is considered a federal site when the Secret Service is protecting the president and weapons are not allowed on a federal site, he added.

In both instances, the men carrying weapons were outside the venues where Obama was speaking.
"We pay attention to this obviously ... to someone with a firearm when they open carry even when they are within state law," Donovan said. "We work with our law enforcement counterparts to make sure laws and regulations in their states are enforced."
***************************************************

in related news, here is a video interview on Fox Business News on the subject. the interviewee is Jim Rawles, the creator of Survivalblog.com (a site i frequent, by the way). Rawles articulately points out that the right to carry firearms is given to us by the Second Amendment, and the lack of people exercising that right has caused it to be in danger of being taken away, much like a muscle atrophies from lack of use.

i urge you to check out the video.

the Political Cesspool has a good take on the media "outrage" of the above incident ... namely, noting that despite the fact it was a black man carrying the gun,the media blames "White people with guns."

On Tuesday, MSNBC's Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns: "A man at a pro-health care reform rally"¦wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip"¦.there are questions about whether this has racial overtones"¦.white people showing up with guns." Brewer failed to mention the man she described was black.

Following Brewer's report, which occurred on the Morning Meeting program, host Dylan Ratigan and MSNBC pop culture analyst Toure discussed the supposed racism involved in the protests. Toure argued: ""¦there is tremendous anger in this country about government, the way government seems to be taking over the country, anger about a black person being president"¦.we see these hate groups rising up and this is definitely part of that." Ratigan agreed: ""¦then they get the variable of a black president on top of all these other things and that's the move â€" the cherry on top, if you will, to the accumulated frustration for folks."Â

Not only did Brewer, Ratigan, and Toure fail to point out the fact that the gun-toting protester that sparked the discussion was black, but the video footage shown of that protester was so edited, that it was impossible to see that he was black. The man appeared at a health care rally outside of President Obama's speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Arizona Republic reported: "A man, who decided not to give his name, was walking around the pro-health care reform rally at Third and Washington streets, with a pistol on his hip and an AR-15 (a semi-automatic assault weapon) on a strap over his shoulder. ‘Because I can do it,' he said when asked why he was armed. ‘In Arizona, I still have some freedoms.'" A picture accompanying the article showed the man was African-American.

Rep. Barney Frank doesn't like being criticized by his constituents at a town hall meeting ... lashes out.

DARTMOUTH, Mass. â€" Rep. Barney Frank lashed out at protester who held a poster depicting President Barack Obama with a Hitler-style mustache during a heated town hall meeting on federal health care reform.

"On what planet do you spend most of your time?" Frank asked the woman, who had stepped up to the podium at a southeastern Massachusetts senior center to ask why Frank supports what she called a Nazi policy.

"Ma'am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it," Frank replied.

He continued by saying her ability to deface an image of the president and express her views "is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated."

Frank, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, sought to assure more than 500 people attending the rowdy meeting that the average taxpayer wouldn't be hurt by plans currently under consideration in Congress.

Some of those attending the meeting organized by the Democratic Town Committee of Dartmouth shouted and booed as Frank and others addressed the crowd.

At one point, Frank asked the crowd: "Which one of you wants to yell next?"

Several people wanted to know how the government would pay for the reforms without worsening a growing federal budget deficit.

At least two dozen protesters gathered in small groups outside, handing out pamphlets and holding signs criticizing the overhaul, Obama and Frank. Some of the posters read: "It's the economy stupid, stop the spending" and "Healthcare reform yes, government takeover, no. Tort Reform Now"

Audrey Steele, 82, from New Bedford, said she does not want the government to get involved with health care because "they just make a mess of everything," referring to the $700 billion bailout of financial institutions that was used to pay for lavish conferences and hefty executive compensation.

Others at Tuesday's meeting were more supportive of reform.

Dr. Sheila Leavitt, a physician from Newton, said she hoped for changes that would support primary care physicians who aren't paid as much as specialists. She said some of the rowdy critics at Tuesday's meeting appeared to be using the same "talking points" as those who showed up at similar meetings around the country.
you'll note that the meeting was organized by Democrats, so maybe even the liberal sheeple are waking up? a guy can hope, can't he?

Good point JimmyC about Obama even losing some support from fellow Democrats who voted for him. Sort of a buyers remorse is beginning to take hold.

Well, "Bacrock Obuma" has not lived up to most of his campaign promises...like not bringing the troops home, etc. Many of the hardcore libs now understand that Obongo is a tool of the Elite like their much loathed "Jorge Boosh". I heard Cindy Sheehan will be leading a protest against Bacrock for continuing SkullnBones Bush's empire building in the middle east.

I went to the Cuyahoga Falls tea party last night on the Riverwalk and about 7500 people showed up for the two hour event. There were a few media types there with their personal video cameras moving throughout the crowd to find the few kooks that were there and interviewed them. The Obama joker poster was everywhere and I saw a good number of signs and t-shirts that talked about auditing the Fed. This movement continues to grow and make a impact, I am excited to be a part of it.

More thuggery from the Marxist vermin. The "Left"/Demoncraps claim to be the essence of "tolerance"...but they are the ones using violence & other tactics (agent provactuering, etc.) to stifle ObamaCare opponents' 1st Amendment rights!

Healthcare-reform opponent says bit-off finger could not be re-attached

Courtesy photo / Ventura County Sheriff's Department -- This image provided by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department shows the beginning of an altercation between William Rice, at right in yellow shirt, and an unidentified man wearing black, who authorities say bit off Rice's little finger. The sheriff's department is seeking the public's help in identifying the man in black at far right, by calling the investigations bureau at (805)494-8201.

A healthcare-reform opponent whose finger was partially bitten off Wednesday during a Thousand Oaks rally said today that doctors could not re-attach the severed section.

William Rice, 65, of Newbury Park also confirmed reports that he threw the first punch in the confrontation that claimed part of his left pinky.

"When he got in my personal space, I popped him in the nose,"Â￾ Rice said. "I felt like I had no choice other than to defend myself."Â￾

The incident was reported at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday at Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive, where more than 100 people gathered for a pro-healthcare reform vigil organized by Moveon.org.

About 15 people opposed to President Barack Obama's proposed healthcare reform stood across the street from Moveon.org's group. Members of Code Pink: Women for Peace also were there, authorities said.

The finger-biting incident occurred after Rice became involved in a heated discussion with a member of Code Pink, sheriff's Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said.

After the argument, Rice returned to where his own group was standing. A man from Moveon.org's area then walked over to the opponents and verbally confronted Rice, allegedly calling him names and acting aggressively, Bonfiglio said.

Rice later told investigators he felt threatened by the man and punched him in the nose, Bonfiglio said. The punch set off a fist fight between the two men, during which the tip of Rice's left pinky finger was bitten off, Bonfiglio said.

Rice drove himself to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Another man found the bitten-off portion of the finger and brought it to Rice at the hospital, Bonfiglio said.

Doctors were not able to re-attach Rice's finger.

Doctors told Rice the finger, severed near the second knuckle, would not survive because it had been cut by a human bite, he said in a phone interview today.

Rice said he did not initially plan to participate in any demonstration Wednesday. He was driving by the vigil when he spotted Code Pink members, and he stopped to see if they were protesting the military, he said. Rice has a son who is an officer in the Marine Corps.

After a brief conversation with Code Pink members, Rice said, he was satisfied they were not protesting the military. He was leaving when a man who seemed "deranged"Â￾ approached and called him an "idiot,"Â￾ he said.

Rice said he felt like the man had singled him out because he was the "easiest target."Â￾ But the incident happened quickly, he said, and he doesn't clearly remember everything that preceded the altercation.

Scott Bush, 43, of Thousand Oaks said he was standing with Rice in the group opposed to healthcare reform when a man walked from the Moveon.org group across the street and over a traffic island toward them.

Bush said the man asked the group if they were for a public health insurer option, and they responded "no."Â￾ The man then singled out Rice and asked him why, according to Bush. When Rice responded that he didn't want the government involved in anything, the man came to within 3 feet of Rice and yelled, "You're an idiot,"Â￾ Bush said.

Bush said Rice then hit the man in a defensive move. The man then pulled Rice into the street, according to Bush.

After a fight that lasted only a few seconds, Bush said, he heard Rice say, "He bit my finger off,"Â￾ and he saw a stump.

Bush said he later found the roughly 1-inch piece of Rice's finger next to the traffic island about 20 feet away.

The suspect fled the scene, authorities said. He was described as a short man with a medium build, wearing a blue cap, black shirt and black shorts. He remained at large this morning.

While who threw the first punch is not in dispute, much about what happened before and after remained unclear today, sheriff's Detective Eric Buschow said.

Investigators had not determined, for example, if the man intended to bite off Rice's finger, Buschow said.

Authorities did not consider the man a criminal suspect this morning and were not looking to arrest him, said the detective.

"We want him to come forward so we can talk to him. We want to hear his side,"Â￾ Buschow said.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
