I wanted to try to keep up with the Pac-10 teams and their White players this season, so I'm kicking it off with my Spring Football edition synopsis of the Arizona Wildcats. I'll do my best to follow it up every few days with another Pac-10 team until I have a base established to carry the reports into the season and beyond.

and Kris Heavner
UZGBRYCPSEGDZLG.20040702204512.jpg
Both Seniors. Austin is a 5th year Senior who has seen very limited action, but has been on the travel squad for 3 seasons. Heavner was named All-Pac 10 Freshman QB by the Sporting News in 2003 after setting school records in completions, attempts and yards by a true Freshman. Matt Stone
CMQLVVCVFLJZRGR.20060407224417.jpg
is currently #4 on the depth chart. The Wildcats only QB recruit this season was Tyler Lyon
DNCDVGGZLKFHYMW.20060126001402.jpg
from Hart High school in Newhall, CA.

At Halfback, the top 3 spots are manned by Blacks, but the wildcats are bringing in a local All-State White RB, Glyndon Bolasky
GLYNDONBOLASKYNIKE150.JPG
. The Fullback slot is currently manned by a Mestizo, but Eric Schlegel

is listed as #2 and incoming Freshman Brooks Reed
KALEVTBNNXXOPKW.20060131215343.jpg
will also get a look before determining where he will eventually play (also a LB/H-Back prospect). Senior Robert Jones
YMINUNBVDACCFDS.20060407224337.jpg
is a reserve FB and Soph Billy Ring
IYCHDLXJRBVDQOC.20060407224413.jpg
is a reserve HB.

Recievers -

Blacks dominate the Wildcat recieving corps with only fourth year scout team WR Eric Sheehan
JBCYXGKVKWFGTDJ.20050803194347.jpg
and Jason Argos
XONFXEFQDMHSSRB.20060411181258.jpg
a reserve Soph on the roster.

NXFUEUMFDYDYXCB.20050803173235.jpg
who is returning from injury. Junior Ryan Kilpatrick
JVXFGGMJXTOIUTY.20060407224353.jpg
is also in the mix as the #3 man. Adam Grant
PQAGIXEZXNGISZB.20050909185843.jpg
, one time TE now shifting to OT may also get some passes thrown his way as a Tackle eligible. Brad Wood
OVUZCHJDQMNYCTI.20050803184751.jpg
has missed much of Spring while rehabilitating a knee, and former walk on Matt Richards
RJZGYBJIDUOLQSQ.20040702215744.jpg
will be focusing on TE this season after seeing action at DE and TE in the past. Incoming Freshman Cody Anderson
canderson25a.jpg
will look to make an impact as well.

Offensive Line -

All 5 projected Starters are White; LT - Peter Graniello, RT - Tanner Bell, LG - Adam Hawes, RG - Joe Longacre, C - Erick Levitre. The Wildcats top 7 Backups are also White in; James Tretheway

and Joe Barresi
DBIXQVERGCKRSYX.20050802205620.jpg
. Adam Grant will also see time at the LT position. The Wildcats also bring in two All-CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) Offensive Line prospects in Colin Baxter
COLINBAXTERNIKE150.JPG
and Cory Elmore
CORYELMORECANIKE1150.JPG

Defensive Line -

A position thoroughly dominated by the Caste mindset in Arizona. The Wildcats have two reserve DT's who are White; Dave Bertrand
ANWSONVNUETDWWW.20060407224326.jpg
and John Markovich
KPZFVIWLDFTSXSL.20050803193648.jpg
as well as incoming Freshman recruit Ricky Elmore
RICKELMORECANIKE150.JPG
at DE.

Linebackers -

The Wildcats start Whites at the SAM and WILL positions in Krogstad and Larsen, both Sophs, but have no White depth anywhere else amongst the LB corp. Jeremy Samoy (Who for now will be classified as White until I get more definitive evidence)
110504fwsah10.jpg
is listed on the roster and incoming Freshman Brooks Reed will either play LB or FB.

Defensive Backs -

Joe Harris is the only DB listed on the roster who is White, but don't let that fool you. His only function is that of a Long Snapper.

Specialists -

Nick Folk and Kyle McQuown hold the Kicking and Punting jobs respectively and Jason Bondzio
SYKZEFDDCUDSIKQ.20040816185908.jpg
is listed as a reserve Kicker. Joe Harris and Garon McHone
BZMWMCDLQLQPUKW.20060407224406.jpg
will handle the Long Snapping chores.

Summary -

Mike Stoopes appears to be firmly entrenched in the Caste Football mindset. This is especially apparent on the Defensive side of the ball where only 2 White players, Krogstad and Larsen, appear poised to see the field. The lone bright spot on the roster for those of us hoping to destroy the Caste mindset is incoming Freshman RB, Glyndon Bolasky, who as a local product may get a shot as a RB instead of being groomed into a FB role. The Wildcats loss of Mike Bell and Gilbert Harris certainly will lend Bolasky opportunity to fill the void at Halfback. Curiously, the Wildcats complete absence of Whites on Defensive and at the Wide Reciever positions is somewhat offset by their nearly all-White unit along the Offensive Line. Hopefully, a few of these guys can make it to NFL prospect status.

Nice work socal! Just keep in mind when you spend the time on these posts this early in the year that many rostershave only 2005 players listed. The 2006 additions won't be along until much later. The projected starter lists are the same way. A lot can change between now and then, just as it can before the season starts. It is great to have comprehensive info on teams, but the projected starters are the ones to really keep our eyes on, as they are the ones who make a difference. One example of this problem can be found at BYU, where there are just 3 blacks on the basketball roster. There were times this year when all 3 were on the floor. I just wanted to share that for your own time and efficiency's sake. It is good to have the names of all the white players out there, as they deserve some recognition. Being a long time SEC fan, I can understand your enthusiasm. Keep those Pac-10 teams coming!
