Since 2005, Army have started 15, 16, 16, 14, 13, 15, 13, 15, 14, 13, 14, 11, 12, 10, 12, 11, 9 and 8 white starters. In 2023 they are projected to start 12.
Army is shifting away from the triple option game which has admittedly given the team some sustained level of success for the past few seasons. The Triple option always made the academy teams difficult to prepare for but due to rule changes Army will be moving to the spread.
"Gone are the days of the triple option, a physical and grueling method of moving the ball downfield. NCAA rules, which took effect before the beginning of the 2022 season, prohibit blocking below the waist on the perimeter and more than 1 yard beyond the line of scrimmage, forcing Monken and co. to reevaluate the practicality of the decades-old scheme.
The triple option offense was great and helped the Black Knights win a lot of football games, Monken said, but it also was complex. Shifting to a spread will simplify the learning process for newcomers, and the returning players have had little trouble adapting."

So the paragraph above is a great example of how the game of football continues to be manipulated and changed due to rule changes. The Army head coach says it himself that the spread is a simpler system. The game has been dumbed down plain and simple. Make rule changes so only one type of offense is advantegous to run, have all the teams move to that type of offense and call it the future of the game.
Players ot watch out for are WR Liam Fortner, WR Noah Short, TE David Crossan, LB Camden O'Gara.
