Since '06, State has started 2, 2, 3, and 5 Whites. Dan Mullen looks to start the same number of Whites this season. Some White backups to look for are RT Phillip Freeman, RG Mark Melichar, C Sam Watts, DE Johnathan McKenzie, and FS Zach Smith. There is a chance that Mark Melichar and Zach Smith, both starters last year, could regain their spots before the season is over. I think the caste gods would howl if State somehow started 7 Whites out of 22 starters. The Lawrence brothers are a real rarity in the ultra-Caste SEC.

Offense
FB Patrick Hanrahan
C J.C. Brignone

Wow, two white linebackers on a deep south SEC team. I wonder if this will lead to confusion among opponents. They might think, "hey, what are two white guys doing on the field together at one time, and they are not o-linemen, whats going on here, alert the media, telephone Al Sharpton, launch a civil rights investigation, and by all means lets have a diversity/sensitivity training session ASAP.

When Miss. State Fans see Lawrence and White on the field at the same time, they'll probably have a thought like this: "Hey, I thought we were on defense!"

Having TWO white guys on defense makes it much easier for the DWF's to scapegoat. Even on a long pass where the coal black corners and safeties get burned, it will always be the "white guys fault."

It is pretty shocking to see, in a good way. Last year was the first year I remember State starting 2 Whites on defense since at least the beginning of the Jackie Sherrill era in the early 90s. No doubt the inaccurate scapegoating will be there for the White LBs. I really do hope that Zach Smith can somehow regain his starting spot at Free Safety. He went through a lot on and off the field last year and it would be great to see him bounce back and be better than before. The SEC desperately needs excellent White athletes at every position, but especially DBs.

A
friend of mine found this and sent it to me just now. The comment is
directed towards Chris White, a very good Mississippi State LB who also
happens to be White.

Former Gator Channing Crowder: It's disgraceful when white LBs run down John Brantley

by Jason Lieser

Everything about the Florida Gators would be more interesting if
they replaced offensive coordinator Steve Addazio with Channing Crowder.

Crowder, a Miami Dolphins linebacker who played at Florida until 2004,
is disgusted with the post-Tim Tebow offense and said new QB John
Brantley's indecisiveness and lack of mobility is the team's biggest
issue.

channingcrowder.jpg

Crowder

"They don't have an identity,"Â￾ Crowder told reporters immediately
after last week's game at Green Bay, which followed Florida's 10-7 loss
to Mississippi State. "They don't know what â€" John Brantley don't know
what he wants to do. He can't outrun anybody. I saw him get run down by a
white linebacker last week, which was a disgrace to all Florida
football history."Â￾

Later in the week, Crowder continued along that track and might have
even included Trey Burton in his outrage. He references "your running
quarterback,"Â￾ who also seems to have a problem evading Caucasian
defenders.

"You can see the offense is nothing without Tebow,"Â￾ Crowder told the Post's Ben Volin last week. "When I saw a white linebacker "¦ ran down Brantley twice, I said, ‘Yeah, we have no chance.'

"First he's a linebacker. Tim Tebow would've walked away from a
linebacker, and he's white. If a white linebacker is running down your
running quarterback, we don't have a chance.

"They should put (offensive lineman Mike Pouncey) back at quarterback â€" let him run.

"It doesn't seem like they have a great game plan either. I don't
know. It seems like they're out there nonchalant, like, ‘Oh well, that
didn't work, let's try to throw it.' I don't know, they're killing me."Â￾

Chris White 40 time = 4.52. Channing Crowder 40 time = 4.62

Enough said.

What would be the ultimate irony would be for White to be drafted by Miami and put Crowder on the bench.

Florida having a bad year is fine with me. In fact the entire coal black SECOND can have a bad everything as far as I'm concerned.

Even if Maye is an OLB, this isn't good news for State's lone remaining White LB, Cameron Lawrence.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6245525

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Clemson linebacker Brandon Maye says he will transfer to Mississippi State to play his final season.

A
three-year starter at Clemson, Maye says he is transferring to be
closer to his home in Mobile, Ala., and also to enroll in Mississippi
State's sports administration graduate program. Maye is expected to
complete his undergraduate degree in sociology in May.

The
6-foot-2, 235-pound senior says he will ask the NCAA to waive a one-year
residency requirement because he is enrolling in a graduate program. If
he is eligible, Maye could immediately help a Bulldogs' defense that is
trying to replace all three starters from last season.

Maye made 43 tackles last season for the Tigers.
