Perrilloux back from suspension already, but not practicing, yet.

You know, I thought he was really going to be punished for his third offense, but since he's a black "stah" Les Milesis showing a double standard.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux returned from suspension and could be allowed to practice with the team by Monday.

Perrilloux, who finished last season as heir apparent for the starting job, must make up six workouts he missed while on team suspension before he can practice, coach Les Miles said Thursday. If Perrilloux finishes those workouts by this weekend, he could get back on the field next week and might play in the Tigers' spring game on April 5.

"Ryan has a chance to play in the game if he does the things he should be doing," Miles said. "He will be allowed to compete fully for the position."

Miles suspended Perrilloux in February, shortly before spring practice began, for unspecified team violations. Perrilloux's former high school coach, who remains close to the quarterback and his family, has said Perrilloux missed a mandatory team meeting, then missed classes to attend his father's funeral without notifying coaches.

It was the third suspension for Perrilloux, who was considered the favorite to succeed Matt Flynn after leading LSU to two victories â€â€￾ including the Southeastern Conference championship game â€â€￾ when Flynn, a senior, was injured during the 2007 season.

Andrew Hatch, a transfer from Harvard, and Jarrett Lee, a freshman who was redshirted last season, have been handling quarterback duties during spring practice.

"We are not ready to rely upon anybody at the quarterback spot," Miles said. "We have three guys there. There will be a competition. Perrilloux has to compete."

Miles said Perrilloux began weight room workouts and running on Wednesday.

Perrilloux was among the nation's most coveted high school quarterback prospects when he joined the Tigers. He appeared to be fulfilling his promise in 2007, after redshirting in 2005 and playing sparingly as a third-stringer in 2006.

In May 2007 he was suspended from the team after he was cited for trying to illegally board a Baton Rouge riverboat casino by using his older brother's driver's license. He was reinstated in August.

In October, the week before the Alabama game, he was barred from practice for his role in a nightclub brawl.

Jackson St. pursues former LSU quarterback

http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8122580/Jackson-St.-pursu es-former-LSU-quarterback

Quality school in my home state goes after quality player-yeah right! Blackson State is desperate and cares nothing about character.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Count Jackson State in on the Ryan Perrilloux sweepstakes.

Coach Rick Comegy said he is attempting to lure the dismissed LSU quarterback to campus for a visit in hopes of signing the troubled player. Perrilloux could play right away if he decides to transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision team.

"We want to be in the ballpark like everyone else who's recruiting him and see what the situation is and try to see if he fits our program and those type of things," Comegy said. "We just don't want to have to play against him."

Perrilloux was expected to take over the starting job for the defending national champions after serving as a backup to JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn the last two seasons. But a series of off-the-field problems led to his dismissal by coach Les Miles a week ago.

Perrilloux was suspended last summer after he was caught trying to enter a Baton Rouge casino with false identification. And he was involved in a nightclub fight in November, causing him to miss a game at Alabama, though he was later cleared of wrongdoing.

Miles again suspended Perrilloux in mid-February after he missed a team meeting, skipped some classes and was late for conditioning workouts. He was reinstated April 6, then let go. Miles said no specific violation led to the quarterback's dismissal.

Perrilloux is expected to finish the spring semester at LSU so he can remain eligible to play next season.

Published reports say Alabama A&M and Valdosta State also are chasing Perrilloux and Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has told The Associated Press he's pursuing the former top prospect.

Calls to Perrilloux's mother, Bonnie Breaux, went unanswered Friday night.

Comegy has had success turning the Tigers around using transfers. Players from schools such as Ohio State, Tennessee and Mississippi State helped Jackson State win its 16th Southwestern Athletic Conference title last season, though its first since 1996. The latest transfer is former Volunteers safety Antonio Wardlow.

"I've always been a high advocate for giving a young man a second chance and seeing if he's willing to make a change," Comegy said. "I've seen it happen many, many, many times. I've had many success stories. He's a guy who has kind of a high profile now, but he's a kid who'd like to straighten things out. I'd sure like to help."

Is this LSU's punishment for starting Hester and Steltz?

http://lsu.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?Year=2009&School=37&Spo rt=1

1 White out of 12 commits. I also read that there would be only around 20 Scholarship players in this '09 Class.

Any guesses on the final "White Count?" 2? 3?

I'd go with 2 because most of their offers are extended to uncommitted, "highly-rated" bruthas.

This kind of reminds me of the Ole Miss recruiting class of 2003, except it wasn't punishment for starting a white RB and S. In 2002 they had been using both a good white TE and FB though. I think back then Ole Miss hadjust 1white defensive starter and 5-6 white offensive starters.
