There was a race in Australia yesterday and Daniel Batman
shocked the whole country. You got to love his name,it
sounds like a super hero.Batman was a very good 400 meter
runner and won alot of races. He retired for two years
even though he is still very young.Daniel decided to make
a comeback, but he switched his events to the 100/200.He
is very muscular and is built similar to M.Shirvington.
Batman won a 200 meter race 2 weeks ago in a time of
20.55.Then he follows it up on Saturday in Perth with
a 2nd place finish in a time of 10.19!That means he has
already qualified for the World Championships with his
time being quicker than 10.22.For a guy who has never
really run the 100 to open the season with a 10.19 shows
incredible potential. He is the talk of Australia.Keep
up the good work Batman.

Look out Robin, here comes Batman.Ha.ha. I couldn't resist.Daniel Batman will have his second huge race
in Australia this Sat.Feb.5th. He will be racing in
both the 100 & 200 meters.His competition is amazing
with guys like Matt Shirvington,Joshua Ross, and
Patrick Johnson to name a few.It will be really
interesting to see how he follows up his 10.19 only
2 weeks ago.Batman is only 23 years old and has a very
bright future ahead of him.By the way,he does have a
Batman tattoo on his shoulder.Even the Aussies like
their comic book heroes and he is even more muscular
than the actual comic character.Good luck to him.

Here is Batman! Don't know when the picture was taken but it looks like Nick Smith in the background.

As usual, thanks jaxvid. You are the picture man and that
is another Kodak moment. They are only seeing Batman's
heels and that was in a 400 race. Now he is on to bigger
and better things in the glamor events of the 100/200.
Is there anyway that you could pleast post the Stamer
pic from the football section over here in the track
section. Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Daniel Batman sprinted to a double victory today in
Austalia. He won both the 100 and the 200 races in
easy form.Daniel is now the talk of Australia.Today
he beat a int'l class field plus local stars like
Joshua Ross,Matt Shirvington,& Patrick Johnson.He is
really having a tremendous year and is looking to be
a force world wide. It's too bad that Shirvington is
getting worse so far this season as he finished 7th.
Hopefully Shirvo can get it together before this
summer.

Da-na-na-na-na-na----Batman strikes again.LOL.Daniel
Batman won the 200 meter National Championships in
Australia today in a time of 20.76!He probably could
have possible won the 100 if he had entered it.Joshua
Ross/aboriginee won the nat'l title in the 100.They
will race a very unusual race only seen in remote places
in a week. The race is called the Stalwell Gift.It is a
pure race of speed on grass over 120 meters.Batman is
the fastest over 200 and has beaten Ross at 100 this
year, expect Batman to knockout this kid next weekend.I
would love to see that race. There will also be several
other guys in the race including 2 africans.

Good to see a Batman siting again. He won a race in Europe
today in the 200 meters.He ran a 20.60 which is a good
time considering the long layoff. This guy is just a
winner. As young as he is,his future looks bright. He still
has alot of upside in both the 100 and the 200.Hopefully
he will be ready for the World Championships.

You got to love the Aussies with their summers being in November,December,January. They had their first big track meet of the summer season yesterday. There were some fine results for this early on.Adam Miller(Possibly the next Shirvo)won his race in a time of 10.33 It is a new personal best for him and he is only 21 years of age.He beat a quality field including P.Dibella,Patrick Johnson and Joshua Ross.Miller is one to keep an eye on this year.He seems to be extremley focused!!

In the 200 meters race,Daniel Batman won it in a time of 20.49!Again this is a very fast time for the first race of the year.He scorched the field and might just get into the low 20 second range like Tobias Unger has.Who knows, maybe even a sub 20 could be on the horizon.Daniel Batman is only 24 so he has some good upside. Some good results from the land down under!

Batman was 2nd at the Telstra A Series meet in the 200m. Most of the guys competing in the Commonwealth Games were there, so I like his chances.

Batman sure can run a great 200 meters for a guy as short as he is.He seems to have a fairly long stride for his height and he is very powerful. He ran a few sub 10.20's last year so his 100 meters isn't bad either!Good luck to him in the Commonwealth Games.

Daniel blew it in the 200 semis and I'll tell you why.
Paul, Daniel's dad is one of my personal training instructors
specialising in aerobic conditioning (he jokes that mitachondria, the cells'
powerhouse is his favourite thing in the whole wide world).
Daniel knows that his 1st 100m is crucial in the 200 where a lot of taller
and smoother runners can mow him down in the last part. For this reason
he went all out to establish a big lead and didn't "cruise" the bend after
the initial acceleration phase. Using his arms too hard around the bend he
simply ran out of energy ( creatine-phosphate depletion) too early and
faded

He still has the worlds fastest outdoor time at the moment over 200 meters the last time I checked.Regardless he is a great talent. He will go on to bigger and better things. He still has a great future left in track.I'm so glad he moved down from the 400 to the two shorter sprints. He just may suprise everyone and pull a sub 10 himself although most probably feel a sub 20 is more in reach.Good luck to Batman this season.
