From 2006-2012, Hawaii has had 3, 4, 5, 5, 3, 5 and 2 white starters. No write-ups were done in 2013/2014. Since 2015, they have started 4, 3, 4, 3, 3, 1, and 4 whites. In 2023, they look to start just 2.

Former QB Timmy Chang goes into his second year as coach at this perennially-poor program. The team surely has the highest number of Polynesian players in D1 football, which makes sense given the school's location. In fact, they seem to be one of very few schools without a 'majority black' roster. It's strange that with such a paucity of whites overall, they still make room for two white guys to be the primary and backup long snappers.

Landon Sims played special teams last year as a freshman and is now listed as a running back, since Hawaii has seems to have eliminated its tight end room in favor of four-receiver sets. Sims isn't really on the running back depth chart and probably won't factor much again this year. But maybe someday!
