Here are your starting white Cardinals from Ball State this year. Since 2005, Ball State has started 14, 10, 7, 7, 11, 12, and 14 white starters. Sadly, it looks like there will be a drop of 5 this year. Also, WLB Tony Martin is the only white starter on defense this year.
Reserve white players for Ball State to watch for are QB Kelly Page, TE Aaron Mershman, SG Chris Sparrow, C Jacob Richard, QG Jalen Schlachter, DT Ian Anderson, and MLB Trent Toothman.
That's right, it looks like this sorry team can only find 3 white players out of 22 who are "good enough" to be on the 2-Deep defensive depth chart.:mmph: Ball State fans can look forward to their DBs getting torched this year. I guess those white safeties over the years like Sean Baker or Alex Knipp were "too unathletic" for Pete Lembo's taste. Lembo wanted some "real athletes" in the secondary, and on defense in general. Because we all know, it's the white guys that are the problem on defense. Don't expect Ball State to stop anybody this year.
