Here's another team that has been fun to watch over the last few years. They started 14 whites last year. RB Alex Daniel should see significant playing time this season.

If Kafka can stay healthy I think he will be one of the suprises in college football. He is a great dual threat QB.

Good to see Ben Johnson is finally starting(Somers,Wi native) out of Shoreland Lutheran High School. In high school he was a safety and wide receiver, but they bulked him up once he got into Northwestern. Northern Illinois had actually offered him a scholarship as a Wr, but the opportunity to play for a Big Ten team was too good to pass up.

Guys i had the opportunity to watch Northwestern scrimmage yesterday and it was nice to see a competitive big name school that also allows a fair ammount of whites to start, play! Here is a recap of the day from the Wildcats website.

LB Ben Johnson returned a pick 62 yards for a TD. RB Alex Daniel had an 8 yard TD run (5 for 14 an a TD on the day). RB Jacob Schmidt had a 2 yard score (scrimmage high 11 for 45 and a TD on the day). MLB Nate Williams blocked a FG attempt. QB Evan Watkins had 4 runs for 36 yards as well. Good stuff!

Northwestern's defense will led by talented senior safeties Brad Phillips and Brendan Smith.

I see Northwestern's white starters haven't been updated yet. Since Northwestern has been playing better the past few weeks, I went and looked for updates from their latest depth chart. Here is their depth chart against Illinois.

Scott Concannon starts at RB.

Neal Deiters starts at RT.

Vince Browne starts at DE.

Ben Johnson doesn't start.

Something must've happened to Brendan Smith, he wasn't on the depth chart. Another white safety, Brain Peters, made the start for him at SS.
