AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo coach Turner Gill promoted Danny Barrett to offensive coordinator Friday as part of a staff shake-up.

Barrett previously served as quarterbacks coach and takes over the coordinator job from Gill, who spent the previous two years in the dual role. Barrett is a former Canadian Football League quarterback.

In other moves, Robert Wimberly was hired as linebackers coach and Jarod Dodson as cornerbacks coach.

Wimberly spent the past five seasons at Liberty University where he coached linebackers and was director of high school relations. Dodson spent five seasons coaching at South Dakota, including last year as a first-time defensive coordinator.

Brian Mohnsen, previously the Bulls defensive ends coach, has been promoted to defensive line coach.

The Bulls (8-6) are coming off their first winning record since joining major college football in 1999. They won the Mid-American Conference title and competed in their first bowl game.

I find it quite funny that they mention barrett as a former CFL QB, and fail to mention that he was the Head Coach of the roughriders for about 4-5 lackluster years...

Drew Willy got a combines invite. As for Barrett his lack of job opportunities in the CFL speaks for itself. His coaching career was similar to his qb career.
