Definitely got to root for half-caste Vera to put a stop to all the Jones hype.

I like Jones as well but for caste reasons I will be rooting for Vera. Norcal, root for who you want to, no litmus test of whiteness coming from me. I think alot of these black MMA guys who spend their time training with other elite white fighters along with white coaches and trainers pick up alot of good habits and become very likeable guys like Rashad Evans, Jon Jones and Anthony Johnson, but you still get the pricks like Rampage, Paul Daley. Koscheck(mixed) and Britt Rogers.Edited by: guest301

Here's Sherdog's panel of MMA pros picking the Vera vs. YOnes fight. I'll be pulling for Vera (lesser of "2 evils") over afrolete YOnes, BUT I suspect Jon "YOnes" Jones will take the decision or TKO.

    Pros Pick: Vera vs. Jones

    Friday, March 19, 2010
    by Mike Sloan (msloan@sherdog.com)

The UFC picked a splendid battle to punctuate its first telecast on the Versus network Sunday with what should be a thrilling affair between contender Brandon Vera and rising sensation Jon Jones.

It's a perfect duel between the flashy, younger fighter who improvises on the fly and the seasoned veteran who tends to do everything with textbook technique. Jones poses a threat to anyone with his unorthodox style. He throws kicks from all angles and also sends opponents flying with Greco throws. Still a relative novice to the sport, the sky appears to be the limit for him.

Vera marks the biggest test of Jones' career. Once on the same meteoric rise that Jones is enjoying, Vera was derailed but remains a quality light heavyweight fighting to get back into title contention.

How will the fight play out? Sherdog.com caught up with several professional trainers and fighters to gauge their opinion on the matchup.

    Dean Lister: Jones by KO.

Stephane Vigneault: Jon Jones by unanimous decision (due to) his unorthodox style and his reach and speed. He will dominate the three rounds of the fight.

Jay Heiron: Double knockout. Vera high kick and Jones spinning back fist (at the same time).

Gabe Ruediger: This matchup is really a toss-up. Both guys have been hyped up as "the next big thing." It's hard to gauge how good Vera is because he seems to fight at his opponents' level. Jones, on the other, hand has looked great, but hasn't fought top competition. It should be interesting to see, and I like the matchup. I'm going to flip a coin "¦ tails, it's Jones (and I really flipped a coin).

James Zikic: Jon Jones by close decision in a mostly stand-up fight because Vera may be able to counter Jones' Greco-Roman wrestling somewhat.

Tom Gavrilos: It has the ability to be exciting on the feet. Jones has power and crazy reach. That being said, Vera has more technical stand-up, amazing Greco clinch and very, very underrated submissions.

Michael Guymon: I know people are gonna be all over the Jon Jones freight train, but I'm going with B-Vera on this one by second-round TKO.

Mike Ciesnolevicz: I think Brandon Vera is a very well-rounded fighter and has the skillset to beat just about anyone out there on a given night and I won't be surprised if he wins this fight. But I think "Bones"Â￾ Jones is gonna be too much for him. The X factor is Jones' athleticism and unorthodox style. He is not a traditional Thai striker or boxer. He comes at you from weird angles and with good fakes, which not only set up his strikes but make his takedowns look way too easy. I have to pick Jones by TKO or decision.

Ray Elbe: Vera wins this with cleaner technique. Jones is explosive and will have his moments, but Vera has the crisper technique (and he'll be) celebrating with a San Miguel and a plate of Adobo. Vera by decision (after) landing several brutal body kicks to win the rounds.

Ben Saunders: Man, this is one fight I can't pick because I am a really big fan of both. Vera's age and experience gives him the advantage in my opinion, but in this crazy game, anything can happen. I just know it's gonna be FIREWORKS start to finish, probably with Jones keeping the pressure.

Robin Black: That Jones fella really is unpredictable and athletic and crazy, but, theoretically, the way to counter that is with strong basics and sharp fundamentals. So many guys at this weight are dangerous for an up-and-coming super talent like Jones to face at this point in his development, but I believe Vera is a particularly tough matchup for him. Vera is fundamentally strong enough to make the right decisions when Jones brings some of his crazy heat, and talented enough to capitalize when he gets the chance. Vera has so many weapons: technical striking, high enough level wrestling to counter Jones, crazy leg kicks, dangerous clinch. And Jones is not gonna shake Vera. Vera is tough. I say Vera by decision.

Ryan White: I would like to see Jones win this fight, as I think he is a very entertaining fighter. I think the fight will start out a stand-up war with Jones taking it to the ground and working his ground-and-pound. Jones via TKO.

    Jason Lambert: Vera by decision.

Matt Mitrione: Each of Bones' extremities is like a two-week vacation. Vera is no punk, but he's going to have to dirty box his ass off and watch out for Jon's timely impressions of the whirling dervish. That being said, Bones (wins) by some kind of crazy-ass spinning attack followed by a bone-crushing Greco throw.

Patrick Cote: I'll go with Jones. He's a better wrestler and faster than Vera.

Lee Mein: I pick Vera in three, (via) inside cut kick to right elbow KO.

Juanito Ibarra: It's a toss-up. They are looking in the mirror when they fight each other. They are a lot alike. I think Vera has the experience and he probably has the focus because of his past losses, and I see Vera edging him. But it can go either way. I expect a great fight. Not a good fight -- a great fight if they execute.

    Pros who picked Vera: 6
    Pros who picked Jones: 8
    Pros who couldn't decide: 3

Pretty easy to root against Jones; the hype is nauseating, totally incommensurate with what's been seen of him so far, and smacks of caste prejudice. It's appalling how over the top the praise lavished on him has been and how unquestioningly the DWFs eat it up. Yes, he's been "impressive so far" but so have dozens of others who don't receive the same treatment. The quality of his opposition, up to this point, is questionable as well.

It's as if the DWFs are convinced that there's a black person out there who must be "the future of the sport". Astonishing and delusional yet typical is their worship of this prospective caste-deity.

Jon Jones is the most humble black combat fighter besides George Foreman. I've seen absolutely nothing from Jones that is boastful or arrogant or "afflete" whatsoever. He seems like a nice person and is certainly a good fighter. Vera is an annoying, show-boating little twerp. As for Jones VS. Vera...I want Vera to win because many DWFs may mistake him for a white man. It's sad it has to come to that. Also, despise his kind demeanor, I'd still love to see a white fighter smash Jones.

Obviously, Jones can't control the insanely undeserving praise dished out by the MMA media. Like their MSM brethren, they wear their love-sickness for all things Afro on their proverbial sleeves.

Jones is indeed a nice fellow. And he was an offensive machine against borderline contenders like Hamel and Bonnar. But he is being hyped because of his race. Americans - black and white - like their athletes black. To them, no non-black is truly athletic - just a Joe Sixpack or Harvey Lunchbucket or Possession Receiver or Team Player or Gym Rat...etc.

Vera is a true wigger but should be no more objectionable to us racially than other half-white, half-Asian guys like BJ Penn or Lyoto Machida.

Qualified white athletes are not being passed over for spots on rosters because of white-Asian hybrids. They are being passed over because coaches, scouts, reporters, owners, Drunk White Fans, black racists and all the "experts" believe blacks are superior athletes to non-blacks.

A Jones win will only confirm this - especially to the casual fans who don't know how awful most blacks are at MMA.

Now Vera has been doing a lot of losing lately and his recent wins are against cans. Jones should win this one. But I will certainly be cheering for the wigger in this one - with absolutely no regrets.Edited by: Liverlips

What if the "nice" Jon Jones has a White wife or White girlfriend?

To be on the safe side, I don't feel the need to "demonize" every negro, but I'm certainly very reluctant to praise any of them. I refuse to be the one that looks stupid when I finally see them strutting around with their White skanks.

Larry Holmes, George Foreman and a few other "old-school" blacks can probably receive some praise from me now, but this "new generation" has MUCH to show in order to receive my praise. In 2010, TRUE "Black Pride" is largely a myth...

So in summary, most of us here on this thread like Jones but we are rooting for him to lose anyway for big picture reasons. I'm cool with that. However, if Vera get his ass kicked, it won't exactly depress me.

YOnes does seem like a grounded fellow. However, for reasons (stated by LL), I pull against "afroletes" due to the endless hype the receive. I don't like Vera (he's an @$$clown), but am pulling for him (against the caste machine).

Every once in a blue moon, there are black athletes that display class & can be appreciated (David Robinson, etc.). However, consistently avoiding any/all TNB is very rare for most black athletes.

Howard defeated Roberts via KO (punch) at 2:01 of round 1.

Elkins defeated Ludwig via TKO (ankle injury) at 0:44 of round 1.

    Main Card

    * Middleweight bout: Alessio Sakara vs. James Irvin

Sakara defeated Irvin via TKO (punch) at 3:01 of round 1.

    * Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Paul Buentello

    * Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Jon Jones

Jones defeated Vera via TKO (elbow) at 3:19 of round 1. [IMG]

    ***My Notes :
    - Good to see "The Janitor" defeat "affletic" tribesman Marshall. [IMG]

    - Also nice to see "The Carpenter" return to the winner's circle. Clay's pace & cardio are 2nd to none!

    - TUF 10 finalist Schaub looked impressive.

    - Sakara caught Irvin with a knuckle in his eye socket (ala Chuck Liddell vs. Tito (1)).

    - Although Kongo beat a one-dimensional Buentello (who needs to stick with kickboxing/go to K-1), even Rogan said Kongo couldn't replicate that wrestling control against Carwin, Lesnar, etc. Kongo's only good against C-level HWs.

    - JDS looked good against Napao. I'd like to see JDS vs. "Brown Pride", but I suspect Cain's relentless wrestling & GnP would neutralize JDS' hands/striking.

    - It looked like Vera caught an elbow in the eye. However, Vera's only quality wins have been Mike Whithead (B level fighter) & Krzysztof Soszynski (via decision). Whereas, he's lost to YOnes, Couture, Silvia, Jardine & Werdum. IMO, Vera's very overrated & was exposed as such tonight. As for YOnes, I'd definitely pull for him against Rampage or YOshad...but I think Machida, Bader would best him (as would Strikeforce's Henderson).

There's really no logical reason to dislike Jon Jones. He's one of the humblest fighters I've ever seen. He's quite grounded for his age. Most guys would be high on their own hype by now. For the aforementioned "big picture" reasons, I too found myself pulling for Vera. It's unfortunate really.

That sums it up very well in a nutshell. And the same attitude extends just about everywhere else -- whites can't dance, don't have rhythm or soul, are inhibited, are evil, have small dicks, and on and on. Is there a single thing that American whites take pride in about themselves?

I hope Caste Football gets a lot of whites to realize the all-out, all encompassing, unrelentingpsychological warfare that is being waged against them. Once enough do, anything is possible.

I see little examples of the hatred that American whites have against their own almost every day in my corner of the world first-hand. The most recent example was this past weekend, as March Madness was on full display at gym that I work-out. Several young, white men walked in and immediately started focusing on the action on the TVs as they began their workout. I was on a bench doing my thing, and close enough to hear their conversations. The game that was on at that time was BYU-KSU, and you should have heard to mocking and degrading way in which they were talking about the BYU players. There was also the usual Duke hate full on display as they discussed their hopes of an upset on Sunday, and they also expressed how disappointed they were about Kansas losing "to a bunch of scrubs" which busted their brackets.

I really wanted to go up to them and say something, but thought better of it and just minded my own business. I was sad and angry at the same time and wondered what can possibly be done to change this mindset.

(sorry to somewhat change the subject, but I had to vent a little)

Dixie, Vera also defeated Frank Mir via 1st round TKO (kick to the face) a few years back during Mir's comeback. After which, Vera performed his ceremonial wigger snake dance. As Jared stated, it's pathetic that we had to "root"Â￾ for Vera, but for the best. I'm not saying that's a "quality win"Â￾ in my book"¦but most MMA jock-sniffers are collectively love-struck with Mir"¦.most likely because his arrogance and propensity for making idiotic statements resembles that of a black athlete.

As for Don and Foobar's statements of the globe-straddling anti-whiteness, embraced by every single white "man,"Â￾ woman, and child"¦yeah, it's all true, and then some. I've heard similar comments to Foobar's NCAA example. Many "men"Â￾ I've overheard discussing the tournament were "pissed"Â￾ that Kansas lost to a virtually all-white Northern Iowa squad of these pesky little white "scrubs."Â￾ They were also attempting to "discredit"Â￾ the "fluke"Â￾ wins of Cornell, St. Mary's, etc.

Recently, a young married white guy that I work with informed everyone in the office that his wife was pregnant. He told us that in a few weeks, she would be having her first ultrasound. Obviously, I personally greet the news of new white children as something that "cancels out"Â￾ all of the horrible news disseminated by the Professional Genocidal Puppeteers in the mainstream media. Anyway, upon hearing the news, one particularly fiendish jock-sniffer stated that the ultrasound would most likely reveal a child with "large lips and an oversized penis."Â￾ This joke produced universal laughter, which was shared by all of God's Little Nut-Huggers. He probably learned such comedic merriment from the same source of all anti-whiteness (TV, MSM, Z0G, PTB, etc).

It's just so pathetic that after all the time, money, totalitarian exertion put forth by the Cultural Marxists to circulate their bigoted ideology to the MassMan"¦it wasn't even enough to convince a German-American male in his young 20's, such as myself. Even more wretched is the fact that if a young white woman (who's married to a white man) were to have a "surprise"Â￾ ½ black child (this jock-sniffer fantasy is incredibly rare)"¦.the vast majority of white men would find this situation "funny."Â￾

But no, I'm the hateful one, the neo-nazi, the ethnocentric.

I'll give credit to Jones for a good win and for being a very good sport. I have nothing against him personally and would cheer for him against any other black fighter.

But, as noted, Vera has not had a quality win in 4 years and lost to Jardine only a year and a half ago. I saw Vera's last win against fringe contender Soszynski and it was close. I recall hoping Soz might have pulled it out at the end.

So, not ready to make Jones the next champ but he is heading in that direction. One achilles heal might be his chin. Jones didn't like that (admittedly illegal) upkick from Vera and looked like he was ready to quit for a second.

I think he'll get the winner of Lil Nog and Griffin. He may very well beat either of them but we'll see.

I can see Couture smothering and frustrating Jones for 3 rounds. I think Machida and Rua might have too much firepower for him right now as well.

LL, Couture's a better Greco wrestler (& implementing it in the cage) than YOnes. Machida is too allusive & accurate on his strikes for YOnes, but Lyoto would have to defend the take-downs or nail a submission. I think Ryan Bader would KO YOnes (as you alluded to YOnes' chin).

I don't dislike YOnes & would (also) pull for him against other "affletes". However, I definitely wouldn't root for him against White or half-White (Machida, Vera) fighters. I base who I pull for based on a caste prospective 99% of the time. The only "exception" was pulling for a "darker" Dan Henderson (who's English, Scottish, French and Native American (1/16th Umatilla/Walla Walla) against the ultra-arrogant Bisping (who's more Ayran looking). That was mostly due to Bisping's endless smack talk on TUF (vs. Dan's calm, cool demeanor & lack of TNB'esque trash talking).

I think some of you lack vision. Jones may or may not be a nice person but it would be bestif he lost...even to other black fighters. The blacks in his division have all been knocked around and proven to be far from the best. If Jones were to continue on undefeated and claim a title the MSM would immediately make him one of the biggest sports stars in the country and THE face of MMA for the lay person. Even if Whites held all other titles the idea that Jones was the "pound-for-pound king" would become a part of the collective consciousnessresulting fromnon-stop hype. We'd be told that the Heavyweights are slow and unathletic and that 205 is much more"dynamic and explosive", for example. This would only be exacerbated by the fact that heutilizesGreco-Roman throws and slams that often look more devastating than they actually are. If he executes agrand amplitude slam, articlesfollowing the match will tell how he, "man-handled his opponent". When awhite grappler does the exact same thing we're told, "it's all about angles and leverage". Better tocuta potential hype machine off atthe pass.

Admittedly, if Jones falls flat on his face and dissapoints, they'll just find another blackAmerican to peg as the "new direction of the sport" so there's little hope that the white athletes' fighting prowess willbe fully appreciated in today's social climate regardless of what Jones does. Nevertheless, better togive them as little to work with as possible.

Latspread, good/valid points there. I'm not a "fan" of YOnes but admit he "seems" humble (for now) and has a strong showing thus far. However, I think his next match-up would be against a non-"afflete" as Rampage & Rashad are fighting at UFC 114 (Forrest is fighting "Little Nog" on the same card). With Lyoto vs. Shogun on May 8th, I'd imagine YOnes will get Thiago Silva or Luis Arthur Cane next.
