One of the worst injuries I've ever seen.

Up there with Joe Theisman and Kevin Ware.

Don't forget how good Poirier looked tonight as well. He will be champ at 145 at some point.

Miller looked good too. He'll always be a contender. I expect Weidman to destroy Vitor in his next fight.

Weidman is the prime example of why I recommend people on this site to get their kids involved in wrestling at a young age. I got involved in wrestling when I was young and I've been able to handle myself in fights.
Wrestling is great for building endurance and toughness. Former Pats Guard Steven Neal for example never played football and was a heavyweight champion wrestler, defeating Brock Lesnar in 99. Neal goes on to have a pro bowl appearance and a great career at New England. Most Navy SEAL recruiters like guys with backgrounds in Wrestling, Swimming, and Cross-country. Weidman said in an interview he was bullied as a kid until he got into wrestling.

Hawkeye2 you are correct! Wrestling is a great sport to have young kids get into as well as boxing. Both are complementary if youngsters are in a real street fight. A great night for us.!!!

In alot of fights what tends to happen is alot of boxer will put all their weight on their from leg. In Muay Thai this can be problem because leg kicks that go unchecked can start to damage your front leg.
Checking is essentially redistributing you weight to absorb to impact. In the process of doing so you can counter with a kick or set up a shot. What Weidman did was lift his leg so that the kick hit the bone in his shin, which is a much harder spot, rather then on a tendon, in doing so he countered the force of Anderson kick and Anderson shin essentially snaped.

Seeing that leg snap was a little like watching a guy get kicked in the balls; it makes you throw up a little in your mouth.

I don't like Silva, but OUCH.

Oh well, such is the nature of their sport.

Anyway, I wish Weidman would have kicked the dude in the mouth and maybe break that.

How is Silva ever gon' live this down haha.

They flew in all these Brazilians, and tonight they went 1-4. Great job Brazil.

Silva is finished. Absolutely finished. He will never recover from that injury. Never. He will never fight again. And any money he made on this fight will go towards rehabilitation. I'm wondering if PEDs have anything to do with weakening bones?

Nasty. Worst sports injury I've ever seen. It looks like the foot came close to just coming off altogether and flying out into the crowd. He'll never walk right, let alone fight, again.

Have to say Silva's fall from the top has been more sudden and decisive than Fedor's.

Silva's injury was the same injury that Corey Hill had. Was they'll do is put pins in Anderson leg, and it will take a year and a half to two years to fully recover. Hill returned to MMA after the injury and it does look like it effected his fight game much, Hill was mediocre before the injury and he is mediocre now. I don't expect Silva to return, but he should be able to move around fine after surgery.

Well many are giving Weidman his respect but some DWF's are still saying he was "lucky." They also feel that hispanic Belfort should beat him with ease. How this clown Silva is considered the best MMA fighter of all time is beyond me. He's done now and I don't see him ever fighting again.

Vitor has no chance against Weidman. Vitor TDD defense isn't very good, and his cardio has come into question. Weidman isn't going to let Vitor set up one of his timed kicks. Division 3 wrestler Anthony Johnson took him down with ease, so I expect NCAA div 1 All-American Weidman to win by sub in the second round.

Not to mention Belfort is roided up. His last 3 or so fights have all been in Brazil.and he's been absolutely wrecking people. I found it really strange since he went on this tear after getting his face kicked in by silva. He comes back more jacked than ever, coincidence I think not!

and apparently Poirier and Brandao had bad blood before the fight. Brandao at some point threatened to stab Dustin in the neck. Real pleased to see him and Miller handle business. Browned a huge man and he fights angry, those elbows were viscious! Not a bad card that injury was gruesome and im actually upset Silva went down like that. I was looking forward to Weidman beating him up for 5 rounds and show the world what some good USA ground and pound can accomplish!

Siyar, Manny, and Brandao are all giant a-holes that all lost. Siyar likes to trash fighters on twitter, and Manny and Brandao were jerks on TUF.

Submission of the night should have went to Jim Miller and not Ronda Rousey. Miller submitted a BJJ black belt. Also I though fight of the night should have went to Siver vs Manny and not Rousey vs Tate, but to UFC is desperate to get girl power.
