Here is a bit from Rotoworld which shows you the dedication and work that white athletes put in during the offseason.

OT Jake Long has added six pounds of muscle, while also lowering his
body fat percentage this offseason.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
Long has been praised by head coach Tony Sparano as a "self-starter",
but needs to improve his pass protection against the league's speedier
rushers. His improved conditioning demonstrates Long's hard-nosed work
ethic, but it remains to be seen whether the Pro Bowl lineman's efforts
will be able to keep QB Chad Henne off the ground against the league's
elite defensive ends in 2010. We should find out come Week 2 when Long
squares off against Minnesota's Jared Allen on Sept. 19.

Big difference from the Jamarcus Russell and Lendale White types.

The great Marcus Vick speaks his mind. From Rotoworld:

Marcus Vick has joined his brother in denying any role in the shooting
that left their cousin, Quanis Phillips, with a gunshot wound at Michael
Vick's birthday party last Thursday night.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain"> "I didn't even know what happened," said
Marcus. "A couple of the people I was talking to said (Phillips) was
intoxicated and high and drunk. So when people are in those kind of
conditions, you never know what they are going to say to other folks in
the area to cause a shooting. ... And my friend was reading something on
sportstalkfootball, nflfootballtalk, protalk, something like that and
people making comments I was involved in it, which is crazy."

Whiteathlete Marcus Vick is not part of the Dolphins this should be on another thread. He had a try out with the team and was cut for off field indescrections.

WA33, if a player is out of the league and there is news related to him, Rotoworld puts him as a player under the last team he was with.

Rotoworld does things strangely at times as far as the way they label content. They had a blurb about the owners and the players association ostensiblytalking abouta new labor contract under the heading "Peyton Manning" the other day. Manning wasn't even mentioned in it.. .

This could be a bad situation for Brian Hartline and I'm hoping he wasn't driving. From Rotoworld:

A vehicle belonging to Dolphins WR Brian Hartline was found abandoned
after a crash on a Florida interstate earlier this month.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain"> Authorities are still investigating who
was driving Hartline's pickup truck when it ran off the road and hit a
parked Cadillac Escalade. The driver left the scene, and the pickup was
later towed away. The incident could land Hartline in hot water if he
was driving, especially if alcohol was involved.

Bill Parcells must be so proud:

<H1>Miami Dolphins' Phillip Merling charged with felony battery on pregnant girlfriend</H1>

The Broward State Attorney's Office has formally charged Miami Dolphins defensive end Phillip Merling with felony battery on his pregnant girlfriend.

In the early morning hours of May 27, Merling, 25, was arrested at his Weston home by Broward sheriff's deputies for aggravated battery on Kristen Lennon, police said.

With this charge, police allege that Merling knew or should have known she was pregnant, according to a complaint affidavit.

The Dolphins defensive end was released on $15,000 bail. He has filed a not guilty plea and a demand for a jury trial. His attorney, Edward J. O'Donnell Jr. of Miami, was in court Monday and not available to comment, an office staffer said.

"The Tuna,"Â￾ yet another fraud "hard-ass"Â￾ white coach / GM, will likely make a few phone calls to save his Afro meal ticket. That's assuming any legal action will even be taken by the "authorities,"Â￾ which is rather unlikely.

Big Ben may have urinated alongside of a golf course"¦.which will likely result in a public hanging.

It's even "taboo" to have White men as back-up D-linemen. Pathetic stuff.

Concussions are nothing to be trifled with, so if he is considering "hanging them up" because of them, I wouldn't bash him about that decision. Of course, he demonstrated the poorest QB ability of any player that I saw all last season, so that could also factor in to his decision....

Some bad news: Rookie A.J. Edds is out for the year.
smiley11.gif

From Rotoworld:

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel confirms that rookie LB A.J. Edds has sustained a torn ACL in his right knee.

He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Edds suffered the injury in Monday's practice. Though he was an outside linebacker at Iowa, the Dolphins were converting him to the inside as a coverage specialist on passing downs. He'll battle for a roster spot next summer.

Damn.Edds had a good chance to take over from Channing Crowder as one of the starting ILBs, either at some point this season or next season. . .

The immortal Brandon Marshall that causes problems anywhere he goes gets some support from Rotoworld:

pixel.gif

pixel.gif

Brandon Marshall declined to be interviewed by the media following Saturday night's game, saying he had to go see a doctor.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
There were no signs of injury to Marshall during the game, so we
suspect this is a mere case of "Brandon being Brandon." He drew rave
reviews for his downfield blocking on Saturday and added four catches
for 65 yards. The negative press about him punting the ball at practice
and dropping some passes last week was overblown.

Negative press overblown? Hasn't this idiot behaved like a child in Denver and now Miami?

Another huge bust -- Quentin Moses: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Moses

Oakland Raiders

Drafted by the Oakland Raiders with the first pick in the third round and was cut on September 1. Moses was the highest drafted player in the league not to make a roster on opening day.[6]

Arizona Cardinals

He was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals on September 2, 2007. Moses was released by the Cardinals on October 16, 2007.

Miami Dolphins

Moses was signed by the Miami Dolphins on October 23, 2007. He recorded his first career full sack on November 26, bringing down Ben Roethlisberger during a Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

An exclusive-rights free agent in the 2009 offseason, Moses was re-signed on March 31, 2009, to a one-year, $460,000 contract with the Dolphins.[7]

"Amazing" how a guy can receive so many "accolades" - and yet still be a scrub...

Few "Georgia Bulldog" affletes impress me.. Just like with LSU and Tennessee, they are notoriously overrated.

I'm watching this team to see if Hartline is the starter with Marshall. I think it will depend on what kind of set/ play the Dolphins want to run. Hartline is the better outside WR and Bess is better in the slot IMO, but both can play either. Hartline may be better at playing slot than Bess is at playing outside WR. I actually see similarities with Bess to Amendola, but I think Amendola could be even better than Bess based on how he's playing so far this year.

I'm pretty sure Hartline is the definite starter for now. He will probably be on a very short leash just like Sabby was in Tampa. It's always that way.
