The men's decathlon winner Ashton Eaton -- the world record holder, and the women's heptathlon winner Jessica Ennis at the Olympics this year are both the products of black-white miscegenation. That seems sort of odd to me given the relatively small number of biracial people in the world. The winners of the decathlon and heptathlon have long been considered to be "the world's greatest athletes" Daley Thompson, Dan O'Brien and Bryan Clay are also biracial. In the case of Bryan Clay he is of mixed black and Japanese heritage, but no Asian has ever won the event. Does anyone have a theory as to why biracial people do so well in, and are over-represented as winners of these events? Could "hybrid vigor" have at least a modicum of truth to it?

It's possible they have more eunique genetics. Clay is probably tri-racial as his Black ancestry isn't that obvious which would suggest he probably has some White ancestry, both of his young children look fully White or pretty close to it a few years ago.

Hybrid vigor in complex organisms is a myth by the way, other than in some species of salamanders. I guess if you count creating different tasting cattle it works there, too.

Aw, how sweet? Thank you for taking the time to register an account just to share that, Cookie Monster!
I've been reading Caste Football website for quite some time. About a year ago I was doing some research on Toby Gerhart and stumbled on this website. I followed Gerhart's career at Stanford. The kid is insanely talented. I hope he gets more playing time this season to show what he can really do.

Everything is relative. It depends on which genes are mixed, you get something good or not.
If this woman

has a child with this man

their offspring would be the next step in human evolution. I swear you, I would take their child and would get him into a sperm bank to expand its genes among all mankind.
But if this...

australophitecus has a... something with this...

phitecantropus... I just told you: don't mess with nature because nature can turn against you.
