It's funny, you know, the combine is supposed to highlight the top
players in college football, adjust their status in the draft, and
serve as a guide to scouts and personnel managers... yet, I haven't
read an article yet (ESPN, Yahoo, SI) that makes more than a passing
mention of many of the players discussed here.

You'd think Matt Jone's and his 40-times would make him the greatest
thing since, well, Mike Vick, but he's not even going to get a shot as
QB!

I'm still waiting for Jesse Lumsden to run in his pro
day workout.I will post his times when they become
available.Everyone knows he should have been invited
from the get go.Imagine if Dusty Stamer was still allowed
to be a running back at Nebraska who never gave him a
chance. He won the Big Twelve Indoor Championships of
Track and today finished 2nd in the nation in the 60
meters.Yes,that's right,he is the 2nd fastest sprinter
in all of college.Yet for some reason he had to give up
his first love of football. The NCAA and the NFL are
idiots because there are more just like him who are not
allowed to play.Oh well,it sucks but footballs loss is
tracks gain.Keep it up Dusty Stamer and good luck to
Lumsden in his pro day!

Here is a current article with the times of most of the
athletes so far out of college in either the nfl combine
or the pro days.Chris Rix ran a 4.53 40 and is a great
athletic qb that could go in the 2nd round. They have
Robinson the rb out of Northern Arizona Lumberjacks listed at a sub 4.4 40!He ran in the 4.3 range and could
either be a running back or a kick returner! All I can
say is wow.Towards the bottome of the article is pro
day updates. They talk about J.Lumsden possible running
in ASU's final pro day or one up towards Canada. They
say that the school he went to has told the experts that
he has been timed in the 4.4 range!Go Jesse Lumsden. It
is good reading.Enjoy it guys.

Is Roger Robinson of NAU get any of you guys excited. His
times are incredible. When NAU played U of A,he lit them
up for around 100 yards. He can play against bigger and
better competition.

Yeah, Rix really lit it up in the 40, but no one got very excited about it. He is another one of those white quarterbacks who is almost universally hated and apparently always will be even if he gets a chance in the NFL and does well.

Caste System is stacked against white players. Even when they do well, they intentionally say nothing about it, or downplay it. I hope these guys really show everyone on the playing field, because that's where it really matters.

The incredibly over-hyped former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarettran the 40 in around 4.8at the Combine. Compare him to two current Ohio State linebackers, A.J. Hawk and Bobby Carpenter. At Ohio State's recent pro day, Hawk ran a 4.4 40 while Carpenter ran in the 4.5 range according to The Sporting News. These guys are collegelinebackers yet are faster than many black receivers, running backs and defensive backs in the NFL.

Hawk will be a senior this coming season. He, Carpenter and Anthony Schlegel will give the Buckeyes a trio of white starting linebackers this fall that TSN calls the best in the country.

I mentioned it in college football stars section but Hawk could be number one pick in 2006 draft. He is a football stud pure and simple. A few other draft observations. QB Alex Smith could be first pick. Basically he is similar to Donovan McNabb at the same stage. However Smith is a better and slightly quicker runner with a more accurate arm. He is also a leader(Utah went undefeated) and extremely bright. Hard to predict but could become a superstar. Other first round no brainers include DE Dan Cody. Quick as a cat and right now the best white DE end since Winstrom. One sleeper. Nick Speegle out of New Mexico. Great LB size (6-5,242) and speed (4.5). Same school asanother big fast LB, Urlacher. I have seen Speegle play and he has the raw tools to be a star in the NFL.

I just noticed this result from March 22,2005 at the
pro day in Nevada.Chance Kretschmer ran a 4.63 and a
4.65 in the 40.He is listed as both a running back and
a fullback.Knowing the nfl, they will try to make him
into a fullback.Only idiots like M.Clarrett can get away
with running 4.7 40's!What a joke.There were 5 teams at
this pro day that might have an interest in Chance.I
would love to see him get a shot at running back playing
on Sundays.Remember guys,he led the nation in rushing
his freshman year of college with over 1700 yards! He
can run like a bull.He reminds me of Larry Cszonka!
Good luck to Chance Kretschmer.

Sad to say it, but that 4.65 has doomed any chance that Chance had to be a running back. If he was black a 4.65 wouldn't hurt him at all, given what a productive and accomplished runner he's been, but since he's white he needed to run a 4.05 to merit any consideration. That's a slight exaggeration of course but realistically he had to run a 4.45 to have even the slightest opportunity of touching the ball in the NFL. And even if he did run a 4.45 the "draft experts" would talk about his "lack of cutting ability," "lack of real speed," "poor vision," "runs too upright," "is too stiff in traffic" or any of dozens of other pejoratives to "put him in his place."

The same way they make fun of the European Fighting
Style in Boxing.I guess Klitschko is too stiff and
straight up to be a champion.lol.I agree his time will
hurt him but damn, this kid led the nation in running
his freshman year.He also had around 1000 yards or more
rushing in 3 out of 4 seasons in college!Give the man
a chance to touch the ball.

I want to know where these guys come up with these "white labels." Do they lie in bed at night thinking of ways to keep white guys from being noticed?
