South Korea is becoming to women's golf what the Dominican Republic is to baseball. I wonder how many golf fans yesterday enjoyed seeing a winner of the U.S. Open who can't even speak English. The winner, Birdy Kim, changed her first name to Birdy because she was one of six Koreans named Kim on the LPGA. Maybe some of the young Americans like Morgan Pressel and Natalie Gulbis will step up to fill the huge void of good young American players, but more likely Annika Sorenstam will be succeeded by Michelle Wie and a bunch of Asians.
