Do a Google search and you will find many news items about Golden Richards. He had a way of making the spectacular catch, best known was for the clinching TD against the Broncos in Super Bowl XII.

Hard to fathom how Blount wasn’t ejected for that
For younger posters and lurkers football was a very dirty sport until about the mid 90's when qb's starting going down like foot soldiers in a meat grinder(war term) and then the league decided to legislate head blows against qb's and then defenseless receiver a good decade later.

Blount while dirty wasn't unusual in his dirty play, Jack Tatum routinely head hunt players. To this day the dirtiest hit I ever seen was the blow that essentially ended the career of Jim McMahon as an elite qb.

Getting back on point the bravery of Richards was beyond words I myself was roughly the same size as Richards when I was in his age range in his NFL years and could never contemplate taking the punishment of Richards by players of that size with the power they could generate.

Rip to a true warrior...
