I thought this deserved its own thread.

SMU senior RB Zach Line was named Offensive Player of the Year, marking the first time a running back has won the award since UCF’s Kevin Smith in 2007.

Line leads the league with 1,207 rushing yards, becoming the second player in SMU history (Reggie Dupard from 1983-85) and fourth back in CUSA annals to run for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons. He ran for 12 touchdowns this year, giving him 45 in his career, the second-highest total in C-USA history. Line has led the Mustangs to a school-record fourth consecutive bowl appearance as SMU prepares to face Fresno State in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Congrats Zach!

That's great news! Glad he has received some recognition. He was fun to watch during his career. Let's hope his brother carries on the legacy at SMU.

More good news for Line in that he has accepted an offer to play in the East - West shrine game. Hopefully he will get more than a handful of carries to showcase his talents. Look for him to not get a combine invite. I'm probably wrong but watching the caste system makes me cunical to say the least.

Line deserves an invite to the Senior Bowl which is the highest level bowl that gives the "top" prospects exposure to all the NFL teams. Him not getting an invite is just another example of the caste system in action.

Here's an article on Line in which the writer thinks he is being complimentary, but does the usual comparisons (only to other White RBs), and generally accedes to the party line of the draft "experts" that Line can only be a fullback, third down back, H-back or some other type of "hybrid" despite his record setting running career at SMU that bettered most of Eric Dickerson's marks.
