I meant to make a post for Zach last season, but I was already trying to keep track of too many other players, and game info for his team was hard to find in a timely fashion. Anyway, this is Zach Barket.
2008-10-12_224823_barket.jpg

5'10" 205lbs
Senior, Schuylkill Haven High School, Pennsylvania

Sophomore season:
Stats not posted

Junior season:
306 carries, 2518 yards, 26TD, 209.98yds/gm

Senior season (through seven games):
Game 1: 22carries, 311yds, 5TD
Game 2: 33carries, 202yds, 4TD
Game 3: 16carries, 256yds, 5TD
Game 4: 26carries, 413yds, 7TD
Game 5: 30carries, 261yds, 4TD
Game 6: 26carries, 235yds, 2TD
Game 7: 29carries, 312yds, 5TD
Total: 182carries, 1990yards, 32TD, 10.9ypc, 284.3ypg

Very impressive numbers. He should end up with ~3,000 yards and maybe 50 rushing touchdowns for this season. I don't know anything about his team's classification, but those are amazing stats at any level. Not surprisingly, nobody has ever heard of him. Rivals has no listing for him. He's a 'no star' on Scout. We know how it works...

Game 8: 27carries, 389yds, 5TD

Season: 209carries, 2379yds, 37TD, 11.4ypc, 297.4ypg

Zach is currently leading the nation in rushing.

Projection:
I'm going to assume one more playoff victory than last season (because they're rolling everybody). That would put Zach's team at 13 games for this season. If we assume a 20% reduction in his output over the last five games of the season, that would give him final season totals of 3,569 rushing yards on 314 carries (274.5yds/gm, 11.37ypc) and 56 rushing touchdowns.
That would put him in 7th place on the all-time national list for single season rushing yards, and 4th place on the all-time single season touchdowns chart (and various other national records for single season and career).

Wow, what are the D1 recruiters waiting for? I can't find any measureables on him, but, wow, incredible production.

Game 9:
15 carries, 216yds, 5TD

Game 10:
30 carries, 320yds, 4TD

Season to date:
254 carries, 2915yds, 46TD, 11.5ypc, 291.5ypg

Zach has a very good chance at making the national top 5 of the all time single season rushing totals. He'll need to reach his average YPG and play at least three more games. His season thus far already puts him in the #3 spot all-time for YPG average in a season.

Thank you for the post about Zach Barket. I'm a family member of his and we are all very proud of what he has done so far this season on and off the field. First I'd like to note he is a very smart kid, He is ranked in the top 5 in his class. He is 5'10 and 205 pounds, We are located in N.E. central Pennsylvania (famous Coal Region Football) He is getting a lot of looks from all different schools. D1 schools to the Ivy League. Personal I think the Ivy League would be his best bet, because first he will be able to play sooner than later in that league, and second he doesn't have the size to play D1, and third he wants to go to school for Engineering and a degree from any collage is the main goal here. Princeton & Penn, are the front runners so far, But collage and his own season is still under way so the recruiting process is still some months down the road.

His last game last week stats are: 19 carries for 345 yards and 6 TD's, He now has 52 TD's and 3259 yards rushing on the year. He is 2 TD's away from the State of PA. total TD's in a season record (held by Parkland High School & ex-Penn State player Austin Scott, Record of 53 TD's) This week they play Williams Valley who is also 11-0, this will be the first big test of the state playoffs for this team. Thank you again for your post.

Do you know who's leading the Southeastern Conference in rushing?
It's Michael Smith of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Michael Smith is 5'7", 173lbs. I have nothing more to say about "D1 size".

Thanks for posting. I'm glad to hear that Zach is interested in continuing his football career in college. We here at Caste Football would love to see some highlight film of him. I've seen a small clip on the internet, but it's not a good video. Do you know of any site that features decent video of Zach?

I don't know anything about the playoff structure in Schuylkill Haven's football classification. How many games could they possibly have left if they won out? I'd really like to see Zach make a dent in those national records.

Tell Zach he has fans all over the country and we're rooting for him.

Too small? He is already over 200 lbs in high school. If he were to get into a D1 school with a good strength and conditioning program, he will easily add 10+ lbs of muscle his freshman year. He will more than likely improve his speed. Don't let that hold him back from pursuing a D1 scholarship.

Thanks again for your comments... The playoffs if they would win out would be 16 games, The 16 game would be the class A state champ. (East VS. West PA.) I know what your saying about his size, He has good size for a 17 year old kid, and collage will put on more muscle mass on his frame. But he wants to play RB and lets face it if he goes to a D1 school it would be hard for a 5"10 white kid to play RB at that level. He is not too worried about collage just yet.... until the season is over then he will look at all his options.

Here are a few sites that have video you can check out, 2 local news stations have good videos on there website.

www.pahomepage.com
This is one of the best local highschool football video shows each week.
(on the main page "Eyewitness Sports Saturday" look in part 1 video 11/8 They also have archive video if you look back)

www.wnep.com
click on the sports tab
(also has archive video if you look back)

check it out and let me know what you think?Edited by: coalregion570

I think the negative stereotypes are breaking down for white kids running the ball. I would say he would have a good chance to run if he proves himself worthy, works hard, and chooses a school with a fair minded coaching staff. Jacob Hester ran for over 1,000 yds last year, and this year, more and more white kids are getting the starting nod and doing well! Look at Jake Sharp, Toby Gerhart, Collin Mooney, and others that get mentioned on this site. From what I've seen, Zach has the talent to run at the D1 level. I know that there are a lot of other factors that go into choosing a college, and I'm sure his great grades makes academic prestige a big deal, but as a fan, I'd love to see him on TV toting the rock. Best of luck the rest of the year!

blue, did you check out the videos of Zach?

Not only does he have a very impressive frame, he's got some great moves in space. He could start at any Big Ten school next season. It's a crime that he's not at least a four-star right now.

I'm sure he probably had 300 yards rushing tonight, although I'm off to bed so I won't check the stats until tomorrow.

*Correction: They don't play until Saturday.

Yea, he looks incredible. I also don't understand why all the Big Ten and MAC schools aren't competing for his signature right now. The schools need to wake up and stop ignoring these outrageous stats and phenomenal tapes. Great stuff!

He looks pretty solidly built to me. He can easily be 220 in college after being in the program for a year or two. 5'10 220 is extremely well built for any level runner. Size should not be a concern.

5'10 220 is even a little heavy. Just look how most of the top RBs in the NFL are between 5'9 and 6 foot, but usually don't weigh more than 215 lbs. Tiki Barber at 5'10 200 lbs is a typical sized NFL RB. Shaun Alexander 5'11, LT 5'11, Brian Westbrook 5'8, Frank Gore 5'9 etc. etc. I'd say 5'10 207 lbs or so!

With another great performance last Friday (28c, 255yds, 4TD), Zach is now within striking distance of several all-time records for high school football.
Zach currently stands at 3,798 Yards on the season with 60 rushing touchdowns. The all-time single season national marks are 4,494 yards and 68 touchdowns. If Zach's team continues to win, they should play three more games. Zach is averaging 292yds/game on the season. If he maintains that average over three games, he would end the season with 4,674 yards, making him #1 all-time. Averaging 232yds/game would give him exactly the record (if he got one more yard). He's already on pace for 74 touchdowns this season, which would easily give him the record.
Those are the "big dog" records. No one can ignore those. Zach is in line for, or already possesses some other national records for this season. For example, I'm pretty sure he holds the national record for most consecutive 200 yard rushing games. I can't say about career records, as I can't find his Sophomore stats posted anywhere.
I hope everyone appreciates the magnitude of these accomplishments.
Zach is one of the best ever, without disclaimers.

In last Saturday's playoff thriller, Zach had 244 yards rushing on 41 carries and 4 touchdowns. He also had 7 tackles from his linebacker position, and he made an interception at the end of the game to seal the victory for his team, 43-38.

Zach's season to date:
368c, 4,048 yards, 64TD

He is now 39 yards shy of #2 all-time national single season rushing record.
He is now tied for #2 all-time national single season touchdowns. (needs 4 more to reach #1)

*Update:
Here are video highlights of the game. They're at field level, though, so you can't see much.Edited by: Riddlewire

Zach was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Pennsylvania. He is now eligible for the national award.

Considering his season will, at a minimum, rank as the second best season of all time for U.S. high school football, he ought to be guaranteed the National Player of the Year award.
I won't hold my breath...

I have one piece of good news:

The word is that BYU just offered Zach Barket according to the Scout.com message board and one other I checked (Search: Zach Barket BYU on Google.)

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------
Now the bad news:

Caucasian-athletic-cleansing-Rivals.com doesn't even have Zach Barket in their database despite him finishing number two in the HISTORY of American H.S football in a season for both TDs and rushing yards. Rivals agenda should be obvious to even someone who is mentally challenged; yet the systematic racism of American football is so strong that people have become completely blind to it.

The agenda to give all the scholarships to black kids and not stir anything up by giving a white RB a chance (which black tailbacks find insulting b/c the stereotyping is so ingrained) has reached an all-time high.

It gets worse: 4 of Rivals top 5 Offensive tackles are black as well as 4 of the top 5 Guards. Despite the best NFL offensive lines being white dominated. Even 3 of the top 5 Centers appear to mixed race or black.

Rivals top ranked white WR is ranked 49th even with a white man leading the FBS in receiving and there being two white Biletnikoff finalists this year and the great success of Wes Welker and other whites in the NFL.

Rivals top ranked white defensive player is ranked 112 overall! That would be the middle of the 4th round in relation to the NFL draft.

It doesn't matter that all 4 NFL Pro Bowl starting DEs were white last year and Chris Long was drafted 2nd overall; or the dominance of Brian Urlacher in the NFL or Brian Cushing, James Laurinaitis and Sean Lee in the FBS.

Rivals top white offensive player that is not an offensive lineman or QB is TE Phillip Lutzenkirchen at a paltry #166 overall. That would be the beginning of the "SIXTH" round in relation to the NFL draft.

Furthermore Only 32 NFL WRs on average are drafted per year; so if Rivals has their way ranking the top white WR 49th; No white WR will even come close to "EVER" being drafted again.

Rivals wants the complete and utter emasculation and demise of the white athlete. These White hating Fascists have to be revealed for the liars that they are!
smiley7.gif

Is it any wonder with the media being such anti-white zealots that fans just can't accept white skill players. I mean Eric Weddle is doing great at Safety for the Chargers, but because he has to pick up the slack of the CBs with a saving tackle the fans are blaming Weddle as the guy who blew the coverage. His white skin stands out as out of place to them.

I am ranting in the H.S forum; so when people search for these H.S players they will see the truth of the disappearance of the white RB being due to recruiting racism. We all know whites used to dominate in the Vince Lombardi era in an integrated league before they were shut out. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I just found some video of Zach on youtube and thought that I would post it so you could see a bunch of his long td runs and highlights of 08'. It was the most amazing thing to go to the football games friday night and watch Zach pile up the yards on his way to setting state records and placing his name on the national records for single season!!

Here's the link so you guys can see him run!!

Zach Barket has accepted a scholarship to play for Lehigh University.

Thus ends the most pitiful story in high school football history. Barket, at least the second best running back in Pennsylvania football history, was not offered a Division 1A football scholarship. Barket's senior season, which ranks as the second best in United States high school football history, was not even enough to get him a selection to the Pennsylvania high school football All-Star game.

This miserable country deserves a communist like Obama for its President. To hell with us all.

I think the biggest problem is that barely anyone knew about this kid. As was mentioned he was not in the Rivals database, and his videos have extremely low views, as if only teammates and a few random people have looked at them. It appears to me that there was a failure on behalf of his coaching staff and/or him and his family to properly market him to FBS schools. Obviously there is a prejudice against white runningbacks, and Zach should be playing at an FBS school, but it will not happen if nobody is working to get him there. The biggest winner in this case is Lehigh.

As I said in above posts I'm a family member of Zach and Electric Slide what you said is not quite true, Your quote.

"It appears to me that there was a failure on behalf of his coaching staff and/or him and his family to properly market him"

It was not on the mark, He had some schools looking at him, But the main factor in this was Zach did not want to go to a School more than 3 hours away from our home "In Eastern PA" so that limited the schools he was even considering looking at and let's be honest, look at the big picture here Football is great and all but he is using Football as a means to an end. Yes he had a great year in football, But he is more worried about having a great job and life. He was in the top 5 in his class and his GPA is the only stats he cares about. He will have a great collage career, I'm sure of that. But us his family, has supported him and his decision on what ever he wants to do with is future. And the biggest winner here is Zach because he is getting a 49,000 dollar a year free ride to good collage.

Also I would like to note on him not making the "Big 33 game" (Pa's all star game) it is all political and we e-mailed the Big 33 and they said "They did not pick the players to play in the game" it was up to the "PSFAC" coaching association and their reply was "That the reason they only had 2 RB's on the whole team, was they wanted to run a spread offense" and get this one of the coaches from (West Catholic) had his RB from his team as one of the 2 on the team.... and they said "he (meaning the coach) was not in the room when his player was picked"....hahah that is some funny sh*t.
