white skill players

Since I've had a chance lately to look at a lot of videos of some of
the top white high school prospects in the country, I thought I'd give
you guys a run down of who they are and what I think of them. '05 seems
to be a good year for white skill players, particularly at wide
reciever.

Kris Durham WR:

Committed to Georgia. This guy is HUGE. Seeing him play wide reciever
in high school is like watching Shaq romp through the land of the
Luliputians. He's a legit 6'5", and has speed and excellent pass
catching ability to go along with that great size. Hopefully it
wasn't a mistake to pick a caste loving school like UG.

McKay Jacobson WR:

Texas reciever commited to BYU. This is one of the real speedsters,
with great moves. Good at cutting and juking to get the extra hards,
and utilises the stiffarm really well. Fights for every yard.

Andrew Norman WR:

Committed to Arkansas. Decent speed that is helped by the ability to go
from 0 to 60 in an instant. Good size coming out of high school at
6'2". Makes defenders miss with his jukes.

Jeff Ogren WR:

AL recruit Committed to Clemson. Another guy with excellent size coming
out of HS. Great hands and insticts, he is able to ajust to the ball
well in flight. Saw him make one of the most spectacular diving catches
ever! Catches a lot of deep balls.

Dan Sheeran WR,RB:

Committed to Wisconsin. Big guy that's fast and not easy to bring down.
Almost has a combo backs mentality to running after the catch, can slip
away or run right through a tackle. Projected as a reciever at the next
level.

Clint Renfro WR:

Uncommitted, but has plenty of offers on the table. To my eyes, this
guy seems like the best pure speed wide reciever out of all of those
I've listed. Many players 40 yard dash times are doubtlessly pumped up
coming out of high school, but I think he is a true 4.4 range runner.
Solid physically and with pretty good size.

Ryan Ellis WR:

From my hometown of Jacksonville, FL. Uncommitted but has a few major
offers already. Great athlete. He did something I don't think
I've ever seen on a football field, doing a huge somersault leap over a
defender and land on his feet on the other side. Crazy! Plenty of tools
including hands and ball ajustment.

Lucas Caparelli RB:

Uncommitted, but has offers from Michigan, MS, Virginia, VT, etc. Blows
right by defenders. Excellent runner both inside and outside. Really
lively moves, has a great fake to the inside and go outside cut that
leaves defenders tripping all over themselves. Top of the line running
back prospect.

Skylar Jessen RB:

Committed to Washington State. Good shake and bake just like Caparelli.
The thing I noticed the most about him is that he really can put on
that extra burst when he needs to get outside or hit the hole quick.
Looks like a good pass catching back too.

Well, thats all for now. There are plenty of others which I will get to
later, including white athletes commited to Notre Dame, Iowa
State, Texas A&M, and so on.

We sure need more white receivers in the SEC. The last two Ole Miss started were awesome and did a lot for the team. Bill Flowers (2001-2004) and Cory Peterson (1996-1999).

Clemson??? Why doesn't he just cut off one of his hands if he wants to end his football career early?

Tell him to go to Colorado State or somewhere like that. They love white receivers.

South Lake Carrol was on Fox Sports Net tonight, so I got to watch Clint and Mckay play an entire game.

First off, the great thing about this team is that it is basically all
white, down to the cornerbacks. The defense played great and they
blanked Ryan 41-0.

Renfro is everything advertised and then some. He had 5 catches for a
169 yards in the game. This guy is a ludicrous talent that just blows
by cornerbacks with the greatest of ease. He had a 56 yard touchdown
where he basically strolled into the endzone. I'm sure he had plenty of
scouts eyes popping out with his speed and playmaking.

Mckay Jacobson struggled a little bit, he dropped an easy ball that hit
him right on the shoulderpads. I didn't get his final stats, but I
believe he had four catches on the night.

Beyond that, there is really just a great, deep stable of wide
recievers for the Dragons. Another one who had a great game was Evan
Fentriss. He scored 3 touchdowns and had around 80 yards recieving.

One of their DBs, Joseph Agnew, is committed to Tulsa.

Not every white reciever can go to Colorado State. They've already offered Michael Clarke and Tyler Rawlings.

As far as Ogren going to Clemson, yeah, I don't exactly love the pick,
but Tyler Grisham has been getting a little bit of playing time as a
true freshman for Clemson, so that's at least a somewhat encouraging
sign.

I saw some of that game, too. It was fun seeing Renfro. Of course he was criticized by a troll for being too thin. Yeah, he's thin, but so what. He's in high school for crying out loud. But he didn't look sickly. He looked athletic and wiry. A great talent regardless.
