Good article. Sounds a lot like Aaron Luna, who was one of the top white running backs in Texas a couple of years ago. Luna ended up going to Rice to play baseball. You wonder if this kid will not do the same.

Adam Urbono is unbelivable I saw him play on tv last year in the Georgia AAA simi finals at the Georgia dome. Adam's team Calhon was a almost all white team from the north Georgia contryside their oponent was Grady an all black school froom inner city Atlanta. Grady is one of the oldest and most famous schols in Atlanta and this was their first time in the playoffs in 55 years. That and the fact that if Grady one it would be the first time a city school made the state finals in 50 years made it a major story in the metro area, and one of the most hyped games in Georgia history. The pregame hype about Grady's(the black school) speed was probeble the worst Ive ever heard.
On the first play from scrimage Adam Urbano took a sweep 85 yards for the td. Adam was being trailed by about two steps by one of Gradys corners who was a D-1 player and a track star, over the the last forty yards adam left him in the dust. Adam rushed for 200+ yards and three tds, and calhon blew out grady.

Urbano visits Florida State. Oh boy-someone needs to warn this kid. Kind of funny the best college programs are looking at him, but he has no offers. Maybe he would like to walk on and bulk up to play fullback or linebacker.

He's only a sophmore, he won't get serious offers for another 18 months.

I'm hoping he'll go to UGA. One of the WRs with the best hands on the team in Kris Durham (white kid also out of Calhoun). Coach Richt usually likes bigger RBs, so he'd get a shot at CB or WR (unless he has a growth spurt). Calhoun's not far from me, I'll have to go watch him play next season. GO DAWGS!

i only recall Georgia ever having one white tailback that saw the field, since i've been old enough to know what is going on anyway. Brett Millican was a talented runner (good enough to get a look with NFLEurope), but he got jacked around his whole career. then finally, his senior year he was supposed to be "the guy," but despite being obviously better than his back-ups he got fewer carries than i think 3 other tailbacks that season.


forgive me if i don't share your enthusiasm about Georgia giving our white athletes a fair shot.
