Packers are going to rue this loss as the season progresses. Should never have been close, much less Chicago winning this one.
Yes, I noticed as well holds called on GB's OL, the same collar tug of the jersey was allowed by the Bears. Having said that, some truly costly mistakes by GB.
They have themselves to blame.

Urlacher, Cutler, and Olsen all played great. Too bad Hillenmayer is injured for the year. I've always been a big supporter of HH.
Notice though that Love Smith did not play Steltz at all. Not one play!
When will Craig Steltz get a chance to play? There is little hope of him starting in Chicago, unless someone gets injured.

Green Bay should have kept running a bit more. They became too one dimensional and the Urlacher strip was it.
Only thing I'll say is Jaws did have a point about letting Bears score when it was just over a minute left and you have no timeouts.

Strategically, it is really the only choice. Can't always hope and pray for a fumble on the snap.
Bottom line: Green Bay beat themselves.

At the start of the second half either Limp Jaw or Chuckie started with the affelet is so great if given the chance BS regarding RB Jackson saying that he is the number one TB now. I am sorry didn't Kuhn start the game? They went on, on how he was going to seize the moment and other cliche bull crap about some scrub affelet. All the while Kuhn was performing so much better. Did we hear the verbal blow job about him? Of course not. Great thing that stats don't lie, sadly they don't have much leverage in this racists league.

The way things are aligned, this could start the revival of the power back. If Both Kuhn and especially Hillis show that the power back isn't an extinct species in the modern NFL, I hope this helps future power backs. Maybe all the blah, blah, blah of power backs being too slow and injury prone to survive the modern NFL will die a slow and hard death.

Yes, perhaps. And I hope this may happen so guys such as Hillis and Kuhn get significant playing time.
However, both the Browns and Packers lost this week.
The league is still in the passing spread phase.

Maybe Tebow can be the wild cat QB.
Kuhn needs to run the ball more GB!

Kuhn and Hillis will pave the way for white Power Backs and Danny Woodhead will hopefully carry the torch for scatbacks! Given the opportunity...

I don't watch tv, so obviously, I didn't see last nights game. How do you guys watch football played like that. I see GB got 152 yrds in penalties. When I was a boy and played football, I'm very sure my coach would have pulled us off the field if we got out there and stunk up the field like that. He wasn't amused by idiocy. The nfl seems to be coming apart at the seams and they've only played three games. We've got a long way to go.

I think it's apparent after this week that we should have at least 3 white starting tailbacks next week. It would be a miracle if all three coaches decided to make the move to what is blatantly obvious - simply starting their best running back. Cleveland alreay has - it took three games to announce the obvious. How long will it take in Green Bay and New England?

Austin Collie is the leading reciever in every statistical category. Can they really put him back on the often benched #3 spot?

This was the best week Castefootball has ever had. I still have a lot of complaints. Eric Decker a health scratch? Minime sucks black arse! Matt Jones and Logan Payne are still unemployed while Hank Baskett is drop Basket-catches! Brad Childress sucks black arse! Chase Coffman, the most prolific TE in college history, is still just on the practice squad! Marv Lewis sucks his own black arse! No carries for Jacob Hester while the plodding Tolbert is the main tailback! Norv Turner has always sucked black arse!

Rant: coffee induced

The amount of crucial personal foul penalties towards the end of games is obtrocious. I noticed affletes doing this several years ago and the trend has only increased. Last night it was the obvious tossing of the ball carrier well after the whistle. Coaches need to immediately bench blatantly stupid players for making stupid plays, but it never happens. Rarely is there even a verbal reprimand. Instead the routine is to excused the afflete as "emotional." This has become such a trend now in the NFL that nearly every game has some costly after the whistle personal foul late in the fourth quarter. How could this not be addressed by coaches?

Years ago I remember Doug Flutie marching his team down on a final drive to win a playoff game. Andre Reed caught a pass and got first down on the 1/2 yard line, but he was upset that he a Ref didn't give him the TD - so he pushed the Ref. He was flagged and kicked out of the game, of course. As a result, the Bills didn't score and didn't go on to another superbowl. The whole world was cheated of watching Doug Flutie play in the superbowl. The next year Flutie was benched while Reed's career went on. A history changing retarded penalty that is now commonplace every Sunday.

as far as NE, unfortunately Ben-jarvis what's his name played pretty well so he might get to start but as long as Woodhead gets 10 + touches i will be happy. Hillis is definitely a revelation for the blind masses and the starter from now on, and Kuhn is clearly a better option (although i can't help but notice that i'd rather have younger white back in this position, someone like Hester or Gerhart).

it looks more and more likely that Matt Jones is done. as far as Logan Payne goes, who knows. Eric Decker needs to be active, McDaniels needs to get FIRED. he experimented enough, Cutler, Hillis, Scheffler and even Marshall are all playing well for other teams. meanwhile he signed a bunch of scrub retreads to help his struggling future "superstar" Moreno.

Woodhead will NOT start for the Pats. He "may" get some decent touches but I would not be surprised to see him out of the game plan too. Most likely they will throw him a pass or two.

I also think that the Packers are going to sign someone to replace Kuhn.

Hillis and Collie are okay though.

What happened to Jordy Nelson? Was he even on the field much yesterday?

geez man, way to crap on the parade. let's just wait and see what's gonna happen to Woodhead. as far as Kuhn goes, i think it's clear that it's only a temporary thing for Packers, just like Heath Evans was for a while for Pats.

Jordy played basically as the 4th receiver, he caught 3 passes, was overthrown on one and didnt hold on to one that got him all stretched with a guy zeroed in on him from the get go. without injuries he will not see much more, i am afraid... Driver is still doing enough to stay on the field, Jones seems to be coach's favourite.

Remember James Jones had the critical fumble that cost the Pack the game. Let's hope that elevates Jordy to the #3 spot.

Unfortunately Kuhn is too beefed up to play his best at halfback. Would be nice if he can drop 10 to 20 pounds as the season goes on, as Grant is out for the season. He's a good power back but would be most effective at around 230 rather than the 250 he is now.

The Packers loss was not too bad, if you put it in perspective. They were on the road against a much improved Bears teams. With Urlacher back and Mike Martz offensive system featuring Cutler and Greg Olsen, most of their big plays were made by white players.

Significant in the Packers lost: obviously the critical fumble by James Jones caused by Urlacher. The commentators kept trying to also credit Lance Briggs even though Urlacher clearly punched the ball out.

Urlacher also had a deflection in the endzone where he displayed a very impressive vertical for the guy his size (the one that Briggs received for an interception!)

Great to see Urlacher back and all over the field again. Lance Briggs is also a helluva linebacker, though the MNF script obviously called for Julius Peppers to get most of the love from the boys in the booth. Gruden at one point claimed that Peppers was "playing the game of his life." Final stats for Peppers -- 2 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 picks, 0 forced fumbles. Urlacher and Briggs both had 9 solo tackles, Urlacher had a forced fumble and Briggs had a pick (that Urlacher batted right into his hands). Urlacher and Briggs were the stars of the game for the Bears. Edited by: Don Wassall

Clay Matthews was pretty much completely shut down by Kevin Shaffer, who was only playing on an otherwise all non-white line because of injury. Hmmm. . .

That's one reason why I don't watch much either, Tom. My old college team, the Sun Devils, lose game after game because of bonehead penalties and just all around low IQ play. Yeah, some of them are fast and quick, but they're stupid an are not savvy footballers. The NFL is riddled with idiots who can barely put a sentence together, and that includes the bozo commentators.

Man I find it hard to believe the Packers deserved all 18 penalties they received.. Its pretty amazing that they were still competitive in that ball game, pretty much thanks to Aaron Rodgers. This guy is amazing and I was happy to hear Steve Young say he is in an elite category of QB's in the NFL. With the likes of Manning, Brady, and Brees. Also good point Don, Kevin Shaffer did a good job of taming Matthews last night. Rookie Frank Zombo had a decent game rushing the passer, he's a natural!

Moronic player confronts a fan, then resorts to the time-honored racial slur defense. Last week it was Brandon Jacobs hurling his helmet into the crowd.

Spokesman Greg Aiello tells The Associated Press the league is "in the process of reviewing all the facts."

Milwaukee's WITI-TV aired video footage in which Collins is seen yelling at a fan as he left the field. Collins then appears to throw his mouthpiece into the stands. According to the station's report, Collins said the fan spit on him and used a racial slur. WITI says Collins apologized for "losing his cool."

Collins had a rough game in some ways. With the game tied at 17-17, Collins picked off Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler but the play was nullified by a penalty. And on an earlier drive, Collins got called for a late hit on Matt Forte after a 15-yard reception.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/09/28/packers.collins.ap/index.html?eref=sihp

I agree that Kuhn needs to shed some weight to be his best this season. I hope he makes the most of his opportunities. I'm amazed he got the start last night. I never thought I'd see him running the ball, even in "Caste emergency" role. I don't care who the player is, its just fun to be able to watch a White man run the ball.

I'm wondering why the Packers didn't let the Bears score a TD right after the two minute warning in the 4th quarter. Consider the odds here: Chances that the Bears convert a field goal with virtually no time left 97%. (Assuming they dont' throw in the end zone and run conservative plays before hand). Chances for a Packer kickoff return for TD with seconds left, maybe 3%. Of course this is the route taken by the Packers.
Now, option b, let the Bears score right away once they have the ball at the 10 (assuming the Bears actually will cooperate and score a TD). Packers get the ball back with, say, 1 minute and forty seconds left. Their chance of scoring a TD and taking it into OT, upwards of 20%. Basically, which gives you a better chance, a kickoff return for a TD, or a drive for a TD with a decent amount of time left on the clock?

referendum did you take into consideration the percentages on a fumble, intercepted pass, sack/penalties that put them out of field goal range, and blocked/missed field goal?

I was always a believer in never giving the other team points, and never taking points off the board as in a defensive penalty on a made field goal to trade for a possible touchdown.

I've seen this situation in many games when attending Michigan football. It would seem like a wise decision, however I have NEVER EVER heard of a team doing that. I know part of it is the never say die attitude you are supposed to have on the gridiron, and also a coach may be punished for doing such a thing, it's like "giving up". But I have never known any team to do it. Anyone here familiar with a team giving up a TD to get the ball back with more time on the clock?

Jaxvid Notre Dame did this against Stanford last year. Stanford was inside the ten with less than 2 minutes left I believe. They did not attempt to tackle Gerhart as we ran into the endzone. That's the only time I can remember this situation happening.

EDIT: Just checked the youtube video, it was tied at 38, Stanford had first and goal on the 4 with 1:02 left. Edited by: Electric Slide
