Steve Paskorz is just a sophomore. He was far and away the leading high school rusher in Western Pennsylvania this season with 1,855 yards, more than 700 yards ahead of his nearest competitor. He's 6-2 205 lbs. and runs a 4.56 40 which is excellent for his age and size. His average yards per rush was 11.7! Here's a link:

His team was eliminated in the playoffs last night, but Steve Paskorz ran for 145 yards on 20 attempts. He also blocked a punt and returned a punt for a touchdown. He finished this year with 2,043 yards. Not bad for a sophomore!

But does he have "quick-twitch" athleticism?

Here's an update on Steve. He rushed for 239 yards on just 17 carries last night and had TD runs of 49 and 83 yards, leading Hampton High School to a 42-14 win. For the season he has 53 carries for 583 yards and 6 TDs. His team is 5-0.

I'd like to see Steve get a chance at big time college football. Please keep us posted. I am very interested in these young White males in high school football. Do you think Penn State will give Steve a shot? He is 6'2 205 so he will gain more muscle as he gets older. I have some kinfolk in the New Florence and Johnstown area. Western Pennsylvania and Ohio have enough good White football players to fill several college teams with real talent.

Add Steve to Notre Dame's stable of recruits. "Notre Dame was the school I had number one in my heart," said Paskorz.

He'll be a senior this fall and was recruited as a linebacker/running back. "Right now they have me on the board as a linebacker. But coach Weis says he really likes me at running back. He said when I come up there they're going to try me at both positions." Let's hope Weis is a man of his word. Paskorz is an outstanding running back and it's so long overdue for some white tailbacks to get an opportunity at some major programs.

I hope Steve does very well at Notre Dame, and I'd like to see him carry the ball!! I stopped being a Notre Dame fan a couple of years ago but this year I was for them again. If they keep giving White players a chance-I'll really be an Irish fan again.

I would like to think that Coach Weiss will be fair and give him a chance to make it at running back.I've always thought that Tom Zibokowski would make a great running back.He is quick, and can turn on a dime.He also is very tough being a boxer and we all know about his speed and power.Great article at CNNSI.com on Tom.Check it out guys.
