I just got finished watching this game on Fox Sports
Net. This was fun. If I'm not mistaken, this was the
WPIAL Class AA Championship, I hope that's right.
White Seton-Lasalle vs. Black Aliquippa. It was too
close for comfort at the end, but the white team
pulled it off. RB Brandon Bogdanski had a big
game, ran for 2 TDs and caught 2 TD passes as
well. WR Carmen Connolly was great, too. This
was as stark a black/white match-up as you're going
to find.

Now we just need to get these guys out of high
school and into Div. I football and the NFL....

Connolly set a WPIAL record this year with 109 receptions. Let's see where he ends up next year.

Well, Connolly ended up at WVU, on scholarship -- but was switched to safety.  Big surprise, huh?

There's an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today about Bruce Gradkowski, a quarterback from Seton-LaSalle High School, who set passing records but Toledo was the only I-A program that recruited him.  He turned out to be a big-time star there and is a fifth year senior this year.

Gradkowski's cousin is Connolly.  Another first cousin is Joe Del Sardo, the walk-on at Pitt who became a starting WR last year and did a great job (but is in danger of losing his position under new head coach Dave Wannstedt, who keeps raving about a black receiver named Derek Kinder).

All three cousins live within a three-block radius of each other in Dormont, a deindustrialized blue collar town.  So you have three relatives, all very talented football players from a place where money is undoubtedly tight and who could use scholarships, and the record setting passer gets only one offer, one wide receiver gets no offers, and the other, record setting receiver gets a scholarship, but only by observing Caste System protocol and moving to safety.

I just got done reading this article about Bodanski and it made me sick to my stomach. The kid as a junior ran for over 1500 yards,600 yards in receiving, and scored 26 touchdowns. He runs a legit 4.47 in the 40 and is strong as hell.He has no scholarship offers so this season they will play him more at the linebacker in addition to being running back.No one wants this kid as a running back.Gee,I wonder why that could be when he is amazing. What a complete joke and another example of blatant racism. Here is the link
