Sean McGrew - class of 2016

a name to keep an eye on out of California is Sean McGrew (Class of 2016) from St. John Bosco's. an outstanding tailback on the football field, he just broke the school record in the 100-meters on Saturday (March 29) with 10.67.

McGrew ran for 2,071 yards (over 10 yards-per-carry) and 23 total touchdowns this past fall.

he's just a sophomore.

I was looking for articles on Curtis Godin, 3rd fastest 100m guy in the US (I'm super-pumped about this guy!), and came across this article about Sean McGrew. Seems like they are the 2 fastest guys in So. Cal right now.

I hope he can grow a little bit more. He has the athletecism but at 5'7 he needs to grow taller and add some muscle to his frame. I expect he will as he is only 15 or 16 still and a sophmore. If he can get to around 6'0 feet tall and get his weight up to around 200 that would really help his chances with recruiting in college. This kid sure has some wheels on him!

Its way to early for this but two more class of 2016 rbs have offers. Cade Carney out of NC has offers from G. Tech, WF, and both Carolinas and Cole Gent out of Ohio already has an offer from Toledo. I'll try and dig up some more later.

Another kid who scout.com has listed as their 12 best rb ( McGrew is 7th ) is California rb Beau Bishirat. He is a big back but the limited highlights I can find him he is extremely elusive and quick for his size. He also plays linebacker but it looks like all the schools recruiting him want him as a big-back type. When was the last time scout had two white rbs in their top 15 let alone 100 ?

We got another Wegher. Jack Wegher a 5'9" 190 pound rb from Bradenton, Florida is the brother of former Iowa rb Brandon Wegher. Notre Dame is seriously considering offering him but possibly for the slot. The kid is slick. I dont know his 40 time but he runs more like Cam McDaniel than Brandon. One more to watch. He runs with power and is slippery. I hope he grows in the next 2 years so he has a better chance at rb.

I don't care about Nick Ralston and all these other running backs. Whoever discovered Ryan Cothern on this site is a genius. This kid is probably better than Christian McCaffrey. Why he has no offers is " not " beyond me as thats why I am a memeber of this site. This Cothern kid is one of the most explosive running backs at the high school level I have ever seen. Period!
