Cal is a pretty Black program. It may have something to do with the fact that it is in a Heavily Black area (Oakland), so I wouldn't stick it all on Tedford and his politics. I know they had a pretty decent White WR in Sam DeSa who never really saw the field, but again I'm not super familiar with the reasons given as to why. To my knowledge they haven't tried the Black QB expirament yet, so Tedford must at least have some sense.

Out of those 3 schools, I'd rather see Sam go to A&M.

Tedford is somewhat of a QB guru isn't he? Cal RBs usually gets plenty of success and are drafted high. I think Sam knows what he's doing, and what is going on. He won't go to a school who won't commit to him as a RB. Maybe he is trying to play hardball with Rodriguez.

The story seems to be that Sam was indeed frustrated by the signing of Micheal Shaw and Terrence Robinson, both 4-star RBs. The Cal visit was kind of a panic move. But Fred Jackson convinced him that both those guys were there to play slot WR, much like Darius Reynaud with WVU last year. So he signed.

Let's hope Jackson is saying the truth. Sam wants to play as a freshman. But IMO this is not looking good.

I hate to say it, but I think the Wolverines are gonna try to turn Sam into the Slot guy. Jackson sounds like he is blowing smoke up his ass, and these last minute "doubts" tell me that McGuffie knows it on some level.

I hope McGuffie can bulk up for the FB or LB position. That Rodriguez is a real snake, what pull does Jackson have anyway? The only reason Jackson waas kept was because he is black and has some ties to the new recruiting class and UM.

All I can say is wow. <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Jackson has been the one guy who has constantly been high on Sam since he was a junior in high school and now you're going to throw him under the bus becauseUM received commitments by two other backs? What would you have him do, recruit nobody else? That's not very smart in a two back system, especially with the kind of depth teams need these days. If Coach Jackson says Sam's the guy I gotta believe he is until I see otherwise. Stop making assumption on the situation; we are, after all, in largely new territory. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

BTW Sam is a punk.I'm going to root for his success on the field so that he can break a stereotype and open up doors for kids, but I would of much rather had the first great white back in seemingly forever not been such an *******.

That's great. I'm thrilled in fact.I don't know a ton about him, you're right. But I do know he needs to drop the whole "thug" mantra.

I've also heard he's had some kind of legal issues, but I can't substantiate that. Would you care to explain how you two go "way back?"

Any white man in sports with any kind of confidance about his abilities is an a$$hole. This whiteboy needs to know his role.

More evidence of Rivals sinister agenda:

Sam McGuffie has "magically" lost his rating as the #1 RB for best in space and #2 for Home Run threat and is now not ranked for best in space and is only # 5 Home Run threat. I guess Rivals realized how ridiculous it looked to have ranked a RB at the top of two very important categories out of a mere 5 categories not in the top 250. There are clearly politics going on with those marxist Yahoo punks. Sam has been more and more marginalized by Rivals in the last few months and it is clear Yahooligans are injecting their Pro-black agenda into the recruiting. How does a player magically lose his ability? It is quite clear what is going on.

TJR,

Great post.

You said it, "How does a player magically lose his ability?"

Update: Sam McGuffie is now a three star player on Rivals.com in their final rankings. This is just pure hate on this kid. He is now ranked as the 16th best All purpose back w/ a 5.7 rating and about the 60th overall RB in the country. I honestly think Rivals did the re-rankings again for the sole purpose of emasculating Sam more and to influence Michigan's decision of whom they play at RB. Just kiddin guys... I thought I'd throw a little humor at you for this pathetic situation. Honestly though, I believe if Rivals could get away with not having a single white CB, RB or WR in their database they would. All the whites at those positions are simply token white guys to them. Yahoo is a radical leftist site that believes in emasculating the white man.

Now the good news: McGuffie is on the NFLdraftscout.com's (the number one NFL scouting site) radar already. Sam is ranked as the 5th RB in their rankings and Sam's 40 time is listed as the fastest for the 2012 RB class...Good job Sam, everybody can see your talent except wacko marxist Rivals! GO win the Heisman Sam and slap Rivals in the f**kin face! Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Seriously though, If you look at Yahoo's political coverage under "About John McCain" they put the most biased article in the "About John McCain" I have ever seen. I thought "About" someone is supposed to be information not slandering them.

They are clearly trying to influence the public to vote Democrat with their political coverage. Jerry Yang and the other guy are known to be far left. This would indicate that they would be Obama supporters and supporters of Diversity and AA politics. It would also indicate they would want to do everything in their power for the advancement of blacks getting college scholarships at the expense of whites (ie. recruiting bias.)

I'm just waiting for a Rivals scout to defect and blow the whistle on what is really going on politically at that site. It is so biased it is evil.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

At least he is finally getting some publicity from Sports Illustrated. They admit that he is one the most
athletic guys in the country period! This is progress from a magazine that usually is more like Rivals. Anyways, it will be very exctiting heading into next fall. I can't wait to see this kid play multiple times a year. Let's hope and pray that he can stay healthy and that the coaches let him start from day one.

Hey as they say any publicity is good publicity. Not the best article in the world but certainly not the worst either. I'm sure we all would have liked the writer to refer more to the blatant discrimination white RBs go through but at least the article avoided euphemisms such as "high motor" or "deceptively fast". He really let it known how athletic Sam really is. Which is what we need more of from the MSM towards white athletes.

I think the article was pretty lame. The author states: "After Warren Moon, Doug Williams and other trailblazers rose above the overt and covert racism that once helped determine who played quarterback, most on-field positions at every level of the sport have gone to the best player.."

The majority of the article was about how good Sam is and how people are so shocked that Sam is white and can do the things he does. That would seem to point to the obvious question of "can negative stereotyping and things becoming ingrained in society lead to racial casteing in sports?" It certainly did for the black QB, yet the article completely dismisses the fact that stereotyping can affect a white RBs chances.

All the author had to do was compare Sam to; well like the 40 or so RBs ranked ahead of him on Rivals production wise, athletic ability wise and comparison of highlight videos to see, clear as day, that Sam is being discriminated against. I wonder if Sam sits on the bench at Michigan behind Michael Shaw, Terrence Robinson and others what the writer will think of his lame article.

"Well, I guess I wasted an article on Sam, he wasn't all that good after all. The best players always play."

What a tool this "journalist" is.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Thanks for the compliment. I actually just edited the above post as I almost always do b/c I have trouble with words when I rush myself as well. I'm a good writer, but I need to take my time to make sense. And by the way your English is pretty good from what I can see, certainly better than my French.

Someone wrote some interesting posts on Takkle.com under Sam McGuffie's profile on the post board. This guy must be reading my arguments. They sound the Same as mine.

"Updated Research on Rivals.com. Sam McGuffie is apparently ranked somewhere between 25-35 overall at RB, how ridiculous is that. Sam is my favorite RB ever after Barry Sanders and his treatment by Rivals woke me up to the biases that exist in sports. There are now 11 All purpose RBs ranked ahead of Sam on Rivals (Sam isn't even in the Rivals 250) and Sam has the third best YPC and did it against the best competition in the land. Out of all RBs only Darrell Scott had a better Jr. year statistically than Sam. So how is Sam ranked the #12 All Purpose RB on Rivals. Rivals has a 5'6 165 lb. midget Cameron Saddler who played weak competition in western Pennsylvania and ran for a paltry 5.3 YPC JR year, has a measly 28 inch vert and a 4.44 40 time compared to Sams 8.7 YPC, 41-45 inch vert and 4.32 40 time in the Rivals 250. Rivals agenda is obvious. Yahoo is owned by two wacko marxists (I'm a moderate and I'll tell you this) who support radical leftist groups, research who they donate to for yourselves. (This proves Rivals scholarship/ recruiting agenda) Rivals has a mere 17 whites in the top 100 and only one isn't a QB, TE or OLman. Rivals has a mere 13 whites in the Rivals 100 for 2009, if you can't see what is going on with Rivals and their politics and stereotyping you are a moron. Did I mention Cameron Saddler had a measly 1045 yards 12 TDs 5.3 YPC JR year and only a respectable 1700 yards with 22 TDs on 7.2 YPC Sr. year. Sam ran wild in this years playoffs when he recovered from his high ankle sprain and still had better season stats than Saddler anyway. Tom Lemming the most famous "independant" scout has Sam as the number 3 RB in the country. Rise Prep had him at 3 and Scout had him at 5, but he has been moved down to 5 and 7 respectively b/c of Rivals influence. Wake up to the stereotyping people. Sams highlight video speaks for itself, it is the most exciting highlight tape in the nation, check it out McGuffie Mix Tape Youtube.com..."

"Should be the number 2 RB in the country after Darrell Scott IMO, definitely a top 30 player. McGuffie is the quickest player I have ever seen and he cuts on a dime w/ only slowing ever so slightly. The only player I have ever seen with a better side swiping move is Barry Sanders. McGuffie has to add a little weight to help his power running when there is nothing there for the next level. He gets a little too creative sometimes. Numbers 4.32 40 yard 41-45 inch vert and a 3.83 shuttle time. The top SPARQ rating for a RB in the country. Formerly #1 Best in Space on Rivals and #2 Homerun threat. Then Yahoo bought Rivals and started hating on the kid and he is now no longer ranked for best in space and only #5 Homerun threat. How does a player magically lose his abilities? Rivals has an agenda!"

My take: The Good News: 88% of Posters on Takkle.com think Sam should be ranked higher than #83 Overall. SO that would make it about %100 of people who think Rivals underrates McGuffie. Rivals has got to be losing credibility with this.

Rivals apparently has a mere 13 whites in the Rivals 100 for 2009, and when I checked it appeared that at least half of the QBs in the 2009 Rivals 100 were non-white. If I were a white H.S athlete, I would organize groups of top white H.S athletes to flat out refuse to be put in the Rivals database. Whites aren't just a minority on Rivals in our majority white country, we are becoming an endangered species. Rivals= The black Panther party or the Devil which ever you prefer.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins
