His 1st TD pass was beautiful and the catch was nice as well.

ESPN's Sportscenter had their top 10 plays and guess what football "highlight" was there? Jason Campbell's routine TD throw that showcased a run-of-the-mill TD reception. I believe it was #5 in the countdown.

Great... Campbell threw a TD pass, but the play did not provide any kind of "eye candy" at all. Nothing special at all.

I don't think Campbell is a bum, but it's condescending how the media treats "them" like children. The "coddling" is obvious and ridiculous.

I agree,Colt Brennon's passes were excellent. Campbell's were routine. Campbell had the aid of the starting front line and first string offense. Brennon did not and performed better. I won't hold my breath to see when they allow Brennon to start because Campbell will continue to get every last opportunity, even when he looses games due to the color of his skin.

Don't get excited about Brennan. That only sets yourself up for another Schaub situation.

Campbell is the guaranteed starter for another 2 years at minimum.

Campbell no doubt will get every benefit of the doubt, but he does seem to get hurt (see last season). I'll keep hope alive (to use the words of Jesse Jackson).

Nah not 2 years, if he sucks this season he's done.

He already has 20 career starts and hasn't shown much, he's always good for some crucial 4 th quarter INT's or fumbles.

I've seen all Skins games last season and really hate that bum.

Campbell does seem to suffer the same malady that most quarterblacks do, that is they get hurt when: loosing a game, throwing interceptions, the game/season is on the line, training camp or just to lay out on the field so the cameras and commentators focus on them.

Campbell doesn't make decisions quickly enough. Maybe he will eventually but I don't see his upside as being more than an average QB at best. If he gets lots of time to throw and is in an offense where he canmake lots of short and mediumpasses he may be ok but I'll be surprised if he ever rises into the top third at his position.

Jason Campbell is young and has only had about a season's worth of game starts. I think he could become a pretty good QB, but never Pro-Bowl caliber imo. He will get two more years as the starter. They say it often takes 3 seasons of work for a QB to come around. Drew Brees took 4 years btw. Vince Young looks like another Michael Vick who can win games with his feet sometimes or clutch "short" throws while rolling out, but overall is average and pretty inaccurate. Tarvaris Jackson looks like he will continue to suck. etc. etc.

Basically some black QBs turn out to be pretty good, some suck. And Rush is right, the media overrates black QBs. However, their have been only two black QB superstars in NFL history, Warren Moon and probably you could say McNabb before he started having injuritis. Will Jamarcus turn into the next McNabb? We shall see, but my prediction is no!

Last thoughts: The media (for a while now) and now recently the NFL system clearly is starting to cater to and favor black QBs. Colt won't start unless Campbell falters for another two seasons. He could start if Campbell gets hurt or sucks so bad they have to act sooner.

Brees blossomed into a big-time quarterback in his third season as a starter, when he was supposed to only be marking time to make way for Phillip Rivers the next season.

Campbell has been the starter since mid-way through the '06 season, so by the end of '08 he'll have had two and a half years starting. I agree that he might becomeaverage to slightly above averagebut not a top-tier QB.

Well I think Campbell has 20 career starts so far, so we shall see. By the end of this season if he were white he would get benched if he doesn't show some good signs.

The NFL has so many arrogant white players, in stark contrast to the many low key, humble, hard working, overachieving blacks in the league:

Some members for the Redskins organization have reportedly been put off by Colt Brennan's arrogance. The beef is that Brennan has a swagger that has been unearned at the NFL level. Since the start of training camp, he's gone from pushing Todd Collins at No. 2 to fighting for his own No. 3 spot with undrafted free agent Chase Daniel.

but wait!

the talking morons on ESPN and NFL Network are alwaystalking about a player gaining their "swagger" and how important that is ...

is this another thing that White people don't understand? or is it something that only negroes are allowed to have, kinda like room-brightening smiles, loose hips, and explosive affleticism?

Yes, we all know how much the NFL and the jock sniffing media despise athletic arrogance and swagger.

This ridiculous story highlights the dilemma white players do find themselves in; continue to hang your head and be a good soldier and still get srewed 95% of the time, or act confidently and be criticized for undeserved "swagger." I've been very critical of white players not acting wienery and standing up for themselves, but it's clear that such a stance would often backfire, as in Brennan's case.

The key is for white players to support each other. When this story first broke, the few white players on the Redskins (and "few" is almost literal here) needed to publicly support him by saying his attitude wasn't a problem and they loved having him as a teammate. Shockingly enough, we didn't hear anything from Chris Cooley, Todd Collins and....gee, it's really hard to come up with another white Redskin that would even be quoted by a reporter, but still- you get the point.

For instance, if and when Mike Hass gets cut, it would help tremendously if Matt Hasselback spoke out and wondered why he was cut, extolling his virtues as a receiver. I know this is a just a pipedream, but it's really the only chance we have to toppple the caste system.
