after reading this forum forum for many years I Thought it would be interesting to make a thread that highlights by position year the gravest injustices by position for high school football players

since College football is the minor leagues of the nfl and we know that without getting prime time exposure the odds of going on to the pros are slim I’d say this is the right

so to start it off we could use the class that are now freshmen in college

which HS wideouts, defensive backs etc that were treated the worst?

How many quick white running backs got overlooked or had to walk on etc. despite having great measurables? I’m guessing each caste position has one or two examples at least that are serious injustices.

if a whole starting lineup could be assembled of guys who got treated shabbily from the get go I think it would make for an interesting article and might even change some minds.

I remember that old sports illustrated article about the forgotten white athlete and that’s how I found this site.

I don’t track any of this closely enough to assemble such a team but an example I would think of is Sean McGrew from UW. He seems like despite a stellar hs career he really hasn’t been well utilized in college. It might not be the best example but it’s something.

if y’all like the idea then tag onto the thread.

There's been literally thousands of deserving White high school and college players chronicled here since this forum began, enough to fill hundreds of teams. If anyone wants to take on the herculean task of organizing it, more power to him.

I realize that, and I have to say it has made sad but interesting reading. was more of a suggestion that once per year there could be an all star team made of kids who should have made the cut but didn’t.

I freely admit I’m not going to Clean this particular Augean Stable, just wanted to suggest it as an idea for those who might want to take a crack at it.

By the way, glad you decided not to pull the ripcord on this site. I’ve not only enjoyed reading it but I’ve pointed it out to a lot of friends so they can learn more as well.

there are hundreds of well written articles in here, would have been a shame to lose it.

kudos Don.

In defense it seems the obvious ones are cornerbacks. By the time that a White athlete reaches high school, unless he’s exceptionally fast or at a school which is predominately White, he is moved to positions which are “traditionally White” and away from positions where Black players predominate. A talented White CB is usually shifted to Safety. Hypothetically if the player isn't shifted to another position they might make it to college. In college, again unless a White athlete dominates at what are considered to be “Black positions” (CB) then they aren’t started, and they are unable to make the plays and gain the numbers to attract scouts and ultimately NFL team, to them.
