Matt deserves some major recognition for the fine season he's having. He was (yet) another White quarterback who was widely written off before the season as not being any good after struggling last year on a bad Chiefs team, in spite of how well he did for New England off the benchin 2008 with no pro experience and even little college play.

After 12 games, Cassel has 23 TD passes and just 4 interceptions, a phenomenal ratio. And he has little to throw to besides the mercurial prima donna Dwayne Bowe.

He's been outstanding! Imagine the accolades he'd be getting if he was a brother. The media and dwfs would have him right behind Vick in the MVP race.

Cassel was one of the most exciting players during the 2008-2009 season in which Tom Brady was injured. Welker and Cassel were an unstoppable connection. During that season, Wes had only one less catch and 10 less yards than he did during his breakout 2007-2008 season. Unfortunately, despite their 11-5 record, they couldn't manage a playoff berth.

Before that season began, there was news that Cassel would be cut during training camp. He's come a long way since his days at USC, in which he was backup QB to Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, played TE, and played special teams. I believe Matt and his wife Lauren (former USC volleyball player) had their first child in 2010....which, of course, is his greatest accomplishment of all.
