Local high school football preview for NJ

I recently received the local high school football preview section in my paper for north Jersey. Funny thing is now even in 95% white towns they have a black starting at running back or receiver. This makes me feel things are getting worse. All of the top tight ends, offensive linemen and even defensive linemen are white. Yet they only got Division II or III offers. There are no top white receivers or running backs. This media coverage makes me sick.

I find it sickening also how a guy my cousin told me about from Manasquan H.S, Mike Mele, is not allowed to play HB in college. Supposedly he runs a 4.6 40 yard and is very powerful and ran for about 10 yards a carry in the Jersey group 2 conference. That is quite an achievement, yet he is only projected as a LB in college. The guy was unstoppable in H.S running the ball even against top teams in the playoffs.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Rutgers has become your typical caste team now also. After Brian Leonard it looks as though they will never have a white run the ball again under Shiano. I have little faith in Joe Martinek or Ray Van Peenan getting a shot after Ray Rice moves on after this season. The team seems obsessed with making Kordell Young the sole featured runner next season.

Van Peenan was the best back in the state a few years ago. Now he is a walk on at Rutgers. This is totally unacceptable. If he was black he probably could be started at a Division I school. The numbers are just mind boggling. There are 5 times more whites in this country than blacks and when you look at the NFL there is just 5% white receivers and forget about running backs and cornerbacks. Now getting back to Van Peenan he just got totally screwed. He has excellent speed and great vision.
