Hall of Famer
I have noticed that Youtube is such a popular site. It allows people to veiw college athletes from small markets and even talented H.S players who are a long way from playing in the NFL.
The Sam McGuffie hurdle video has almost 500,000 veiws and it has allowed the masses to see his off the charts talent. A friend of mine's GF who has almost no interest in football even checked out the video when she heard about how ridiculous it was.
However when I did a search for such talents as Joe Martinek, Ryan Van Rensberg, Kyle Bell, Jared Hawkins, Philip Morelli, J.J Diluigi and Skler Jessen there was no video of them at all. Even Tim Shaw who is a big name from Penn State only had a short video of him as a LB from Penn State and nothing from his record breaking career as a Michigan H.S RB.
I say the next move in our fight is for guys from this site, who have the time to invest, assign themselves a different zone and go to H.S games and film talented white players at the skill positions. Then after they have put together a highlight video to put it on YouTube with a creative title that will get lots of hits.
We would have to make sure the video was high quality. It would be important that none of us would say we are from a site that that promotes white athletes. All of us could start commenting on the videos after they were posted on Youtube. We could make comments about their athletic measurables or how tough the competition is they are playing against.
I really think if we put together a conserted effort that we could have an effect on college recruiting if the potato chip eating masses were able to see our videos of the top white athletes in the country at the skill positions. We would also have to be careful to measure H.S production against athletic ability. I mean there could be a 6'2 white RB in H.S who is a productive power runner who runs a 4.84 40 yard dash, but that realisticly is not going to get it done in college even if he were black. I am from Ontario Canada and am not very technology savvy so I wouldn't be much of a help but I am sure that many of you guys could. Most importantly I think that many of you on this site if you had the time would find it fun which would make doing it easier.
