Joe Ferguson Battles Cancer

    I wasn't aware of this. Joe Ferguson always was a player who didn't get a lot of national publicity. When he came out of high school in 1969, he was considered the best high school passer ever. See the thread below:

    Joe was called the White Knight at Woodlawn High. He was the QB after Terry Bradshaw graduated. I have a book written by Jerry Byrd, a Shreveport, LA sportswriting legend, and it has team pics of both Ferguson and Bradshaw at Woodlawn, a Louisiana football power in the 60's.

    Sad story but there seems to be a glimmer of hope. Joe Ferguson seems like the kind of fella that is well-loved by people around him.

    There is a Joe Ferguson Update Page. As of August 7, Joe Ferguson has been cancer-free for two years. He had been treated for Lymphoma during the Spring of 2005.
