ESPN broadcast nationally the game between highly ranked Hoover High (AL) and Nease High(FL) the other day, and it was quite a game. there were three white guys who really stood out, and all three are being looked at as Division I prospects: Tim Tebow QB from Nease is acknowledged as one of the top 5 high school quarterbacks in the country by most recruiting services. He's big, fast, and has a great arm. His favorite target is Ryan Ellis (6'2", 180, 4.58 listed but he looks faster). Ellis was first team all-state in Florida last year catching 73 balls for 1,392 yards and 17 touchdowns. Ellis had 12 catches for 164 yards and a score in the game. The only guy who could cover Ellis was Max Lerner (5'10", 187, 4.46) a cornerback/safety for Hoover. Lerner battled cramps for much of the second half but looked dominant in the first half while covering Ellis one-on-one most of the time. He only gave up one completion in the second half from what i could tell after coming back into the game, despite obviously being slowed. Conditioning was surely a factor, but he's unbelievably well built.
