It's true when I drive through the ghetto areas
of Buffalo that is oh so apparent. If you see white person that lives in
the environment he has adopted to wearing urban wear(clothes that
you see convience store hold up artists wearing). It's a sad reality
about the eroding working class. Even football is dieing in ghetto
neighborhoods in Buffalo as many schools can't afford to up keep
the equipment.....

There can never be enough money to support the Harvard Cup
League in Buffalo. The main problem is that there are too many
teams for the amount of interest in football. The bad teams exist to
make the "good" teams look good. Harvard Cup teams rarely beat
the Catholic schools when they meet (1 game per year per team).
Rather than having a solid, efficient system that allows players to
develop in a system and play other solid competition, they choose to
employ coaches for teams that are pitiful. Nike just bought uniforms
and practice jerseys for EVERY SPORTS TEAM in the Buffalo Public
Schools. Of course we can't make them pay for their uniforms like I
had to. I guess that would take all of the fun out of stealing the
uniforms and equipment for themselves.

I believe it is a nice gesture to fund programs to provide opportunity
to help poor kids play football. But like everything else when dealing
with the poor, you have to be prepared to deal with the self-
destructive nature of these people. Unless there are systematic
standards within the organization, the only solution is a blank check.
