Glyndon Bolasky is a really good running back out of Tucson,AZ.He was offered scholarships by 9 different schools but ended up choosing the University of Arizona Wildcats. This is great news.I am personally suprised that Mike Stoops is giving this kid a chance.Glyndon ran a 10.9 in the 100 in his sophmore year and is consistantly in the 4.4 range! He should make an excellent running back.Maybe he can bring back memories of the Great Art Lupino,"The Cactus Comet".Art is Arizonas 3rd leading rusher of all time and led the nation in rushing back in the 50's.Congrats to Glydon.I can't wait to see him running for the Wildcats!

They have 2 other RB recruits, and another one is white. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I wasn't aware of that.Do you know the name of the other white running back? Thanks for the info.I'm excited about the team that Stoops is slowly building down there.

This other kid is Brooks Reed.

He is listed as possible TE or RB, but scout has him as 86th best RB for the '06 recruiting class. Bolasky is listed as the 68th best, while the black kid Derke Robinson is listed as 26th(?) best running back, even though he only runs a 4.65 40. How is he 42 spots better than Bolasky?

Glyndon had 3 touchdowns and 120 yards rushing last night in the 4A State Semi-Final Football Game.He will get to play in the championship which is being played at Wildcat Stadium in Tuscon,AZ.This has to be a dream come true for him since he will be going to college there.Hopefully,he can show the U of A what kind of running back he will be for them soon!Way to go Glyndon!

The bad news I'm hearing currently is that Arizona wants to turn him into a Defensive Back.Glydon has said that he wants to stay on offense.Don't budge.Make them play you at running back.At the very worse,I would like to see him at wide receiver.

Glydon was today named the Gatorade AZ 4A High School Football Player of the Year! This is great news and he is very deserving of the award. The problem is as usual.U of A wants him to play a different position. What is wrong with these colleges when they force MVP High School Running Backs to play other positions.I hope he holds his ground and demands a shot at running back. They have several other incoming freshman running backs and one of them is only around 5'6.Yet because he is black, they want to keep him at running back. What a joke.Hold your ground and demand a chance to run the ball!

He can't. We know that white players don't have that kind of leverage. Sure, a black prima donna could b*tch and moan and get what he wants- although even that has its limits (see Terrell Owens.) He can hope and pray for a shot at the taboo position (a very risky move,) do whatever they want (playing at safety wouldn't be so bad, really,) or go to a different (read: smaller) school. It's up to him.

We know.

He's not in a position to demand anything.

It is a joke, a cruel joke. That's why white athletes need to be educated. They need to know what we know. It would be great if they could find this site, especially the recent article about this very topic, otherwise they probably won't have the knowledge to make a wise decision. Maybe they'll get lucky and land in great situations, like Mike Hass. Think about it, what if he had been a walk-on at USC or Miami instead of Oregon State? He probably would've sat the bench for his entire collegiate career. Instead he has become the best WR in the country. This Bolasky kid needs to know where he should go to maximize his chances of getting a starting job- preferably at his best position, but even if it's at a different position, he needs a fair opportuniy to play.

We call it the Caste System for a reason. White players better know their place, and either intelligently resist it, or accept it. Edited by: JD074

I respectfully disagree. That is part of the problem.Black athletes can bitch about playing time and starting while whites cannot.Bolasky should demand a chance.Maybe it might just work.He dreams about being a running back and has the skills to back it up.Why should he settle for being a def.back? If they cut him because of it,so be it.He can go to another college like Colorado State and get to play there. The Rams were one of the teams heavily recruiting him.Glyndon is a life long wildcat fan so he stayed in Tucson. The University of Arizona owes this kid at least a chance to try out at running back i.m.o.

Aka, Caste System.

It... might... work. He may gain their respect and sway their minds by standing his ground, showing that he's confident in his ability to be a good ball carrier. Or maybe he'll be ignored and/or ridiculed. Maybe this, maybe that. This is this kid's career we're talking about here. Why should he take an unnecessary risk? Again, if he had the knowledge that we have, he could make an informed decision about where he should play to optimize his chances of actually playing the game he loves and is so good at. Is Arizona the place where he's going to get a shot at RB? Probably not. Safety? Probably. Would he have a better shot at playing RB somewhere else? Yes. He doesn't need to b*tch and moan like a black athlete, he needs to make wise choices about his future.

What?!? Colorado State wanted him? Duh! That's what I'm saying. Colorado State has played two white running backs in the last two seasons (yes, partly due to injury, but it's something.) I'm not familiar with Arizona; how many white RB's have they played in the last two seasons? "Life long fan," oh that just sucks. That really sucks. Who gives a d*mn who he grew up watching. That proves my point exactly. He needs to be educated.

Of course they do. But life isn't fair. He needs to take matters into his own hands, not put his fate in the hands of some coach who won't play him no matter how good he is.Edited by: JD074
